Vivendi says no Battlestar Galactica MMO for you ... 360 owner photo

Despite what you may have heard or seen, Vivendi denied today reports that a Battlestar Galactica MMO was coming to the Xbox 360. Even though EB games listed the game as coming out for the system, the publishing giant said such a thing was incorrect. This is what they told 1UP:

"EBGames has removed the information because it was not accurate. Vivendi Games has not announced a Battlestar Galactica game. We cannot comment any further as it is our policy to not comment on industry rumors."

Does this mean it will never happen? No, of course not. It just means they weren't ready to announce it. Of course, it could just all be a ruse by the Cylons to divert our attention of an impending attack, but I'm going to side on the fact that EB is run by frackin' morons who don't know how to keep their mouths shut.

You'd think at some point a company would see a rumor get started, find theres really good buzz, then decide to make the rumor true :(

Battlestar is the best show on TV. Believe it. The Shield is a strong second.

It's come on over here but I didn;t think it was all that. The shield is definetely something special. But stuff like Lost, 24, and Prison Break are my favorite shows from your side of the pond.

Poetic, watch the mini series of BG, then the first season. It's honestly a really good show.

Oh right, I'll have a go I guess. Do those shows I listed capture your attention at all?

It's a decent show, except for the excessive use of "frak" and sometimes the acting makes it feel real soap opera-ish (especially in season 1). The Shield is still the best show on TV.

Yes, I'm a big fan of Lost. I need to start from the beginning for 24 and Prison Break.

Hehe I'm guessing that no1 likes Lost or 24 on the D-Toid but me then. Is "Frak" a said word or onomatopoeia?

They use frak in the BG world instead of fuck.

U kinda resemble Jack in a way. 24 is already like 6 seasons in so that would take many a day for you to start from the beginning. Heroes is hitting over here soon, I've heard it's good, anyone can confirm this?

Ok that sounds a bit off putting, sounds like thats just to make it "Child-Safe"

I think it's a way to keep some kind of authenticity. It's not really a huge deal.

Yep, Heroes is good. Some episodes are better than others depending which characters dominate that weeks storyline.

As for BSG, I totally fell in love with it after the miniseries and into season 1 (particularly finale season 1, BEST EVA!), was feeling like it was the best Sci-Fi TV ever made kind of thing. Into Season 2 the plot line gets lame and out of control. Hopefully season 3 regains its senses.

I like Lost.

I also like BSG, but I'm not current with it just yet, trying to catch up.

Heroes is ok. They should just rename it to 'Hiro'.

I've found BG contains far to much filler and is desperate to tackle the moral issue of the day, rather than telling a good fucking story of its own. If they cut out that crap and concentrated on a dark survival story and kick arse action it would be a must watch. As it is, fairly enjoyable, sometimes boring and cringe inducing but can then give you 10 minutes or so of sheer pleasure which makes you wonder why its not all like that.

If you've not seen it definately give it a watch.

As for the topic and game. I'll wait and see a working pirate MMO before I consider whether a BG or SG type one would work. Where the hell is Huxley anyway?

BSG is defintely awesome (begining of season 2 is kinda lousy at times, but it makes up for it later on), Heroes is pretty awesome (although the Nikki/DL/Micah storyline is boring the hell out of me), and I honestly gave up on Lost half way through season 2. I just stopped caring about the whole series.

Grace Park is completely hot.

Hey Ron,

I know where you are coming from (although I still love lots o' cheap low budget Sci-Fi Crap Fests).

Anyway, go rent the movie Serenity. Ignore the series if you want to that it spawned from, but check out the movie. It is PURE Sci-Fi at its greatest. I haven't seen a sci-fi move this good since star wars. Trust me.

BSG is the best TV show in the history of TV, so far. You have to have a little suspension of disbelief to accept the attempts at creating a human culture that didn't originate on Earth (like the overuse of "Frak" and "My Gods"), but it sure is compelling. All the characters are just so wounded.

Seeing the Galactica jump into the atmosphere of New Caprica and launch her Vipers while in a free fall was one of the most awesome sights I have ever seen in a SF show. Plausible? Maybe not. But so metal!

And Grace Park...I would totally sell out all you pathetic humans for her!!!!

"it has aliens , robots , spaceships , and hot asian chicks"

Lets not forget the masterly, make him fat and stubley so everyone knows his losing it. Or maybe the give her a new hair cut so everyone knows she's acting different. How about the I'll do something I can't live with but I won't top myself instead I'll double up on the being an arsehole.

Short of the classic moments like rdaneel72 mentioned its piss poor for dialogue and gets bogged down in political and moral hand wringing lessons for us all to walk away from the episode feeling like we've learn something.

To make it worse I've got zero emotional attachment to any of the characters and couldn't care less if a cylon split them from arse to elbow while humping the president's ear.

I've probably gone too far, perhaps BG is the 'V' for this generation and I'm just not falling for it. Maybe I am expecting Sci-Fi and not happy with getting Desperate Housewives in Space. Power to those who enjoy it! this rant isn't a reflection on you but just my babbling about what annoys me with the show.

And yes I am bitter that Firefly got shitcanned that was one western/space show worth watching.
