I'll buy 3 copies of this to make up for this mistake!
If I had a Vita, I would buy it just to support the release and play through the original game again on the go, but I'm sure I would grow tired of mowing through the same enemies with the same attacks again. In hindsight, I think the only thing that kept me going towards the end was watching in awe at how Momohime and Kisuke sheathe their swords.
HERESY !!! BURN TH3 DEV$ HAAAAAA MOAR H8 !!!
Anyone ?
Ontopic : <3 Momohime
actually no, we can hate on this. DLC is the same reason Little King's Story was remade for Vita - Konami admitted it themselves when they said that main reason this game existed was to sell additional DLC.
so the situation where publishers are willingly porting Wii/DS games to other platforms pointing at "lack of ability to sell DLC on Nintendo platforms" as the reason for that move is fuckin bullshit.
i loved both LKS and Muramasa, but right now i hope that both ports will fail miserably just to "kill" this sort of practice/business strategy.
furthermore i hope that Nintendo established some ground rules about DLC on their platforms so we won't end up with 60$ stripped games that will have 100+$ day one DLC like Tiger Woods games had on HD platforms(EA simply cut the content from the game since Wii versions had all of that DLC already on the disc and more) etc.
As enjoyable as Muramasa was, the back-tracking was tedious, the translation was nearly monotone and the content was lacking. It took one step forward with the vastly stream-lined, uninterrupted combat system, but took several back with the lack of content and polish.
I'd have also preferred a dub, but that's because I'd rather not be distracted from action happening on screen more than anything else.
So you hate the fact that the game is being ported to another piece of hardware because it means you can get new content for it?
Considering how little effort FE DLC would require to make, I expect you'll be running to NOA with pitchfork and torch in-hand, correct?
because it doesn't - cause that "content" should be already in the ported game not being sold once again. especially if Muramasa is planned as full priced Vita game. so the actual price of Muramasa Vita is higher than Wii version which was released 3 YEARS AGO.
i hate the idea where LKS is "remade" cut content from the original game(if what some people who tried the game said is true) just to sell it to you.
Its a money grab
Lets look at the disgaea 3 vita port
It had all the dlc from the ps3 version, and guess what? NEW CONTENT THAT WASNT DLC
If this game has a dedicated jump button (which wasn't even allowed in the Gamecube controller layout on Wii), then that is far and away the most important "feature" it could have. I'd actually want to finish the game, now!
If the DLC is shit and charged for, that'll suck, but at least you can't say it's an example of an incomplete game.
I love the game and finished almost 100% but some of the repetition wore me a little, but i just love when they sheate their swords and the results screen pop.
If it's released with added features (not just 4 extra levels where you walk to the right and kill more things) then there's another reason for me to buy a Vita. The list is slowly growing :]
The dlc should be included for free in the game.
Unfortunately, making the kinds of games that people will almost instinctively ask "why isn't this on the PS3" presents exactly the same issue.
The game would benefit from additional content. But not DLC. What it needs is more actual game, to fill out the "post-first ending" play period.
Once you get the first endings, getting the rest is nothing but a pointless, mindless grind to construct the newly available swords. And then you do it again for the final ending.
That's what wears out the game's welcome. Half the swords are pretty much worthless filler. (Arguably more than half, because there are duds even in the first play-through. But when going for the extra endings, they really are nothing but filler.) And then you have an endgame that is nothing but mindless grinding fighting the same enemies in the same locations that you were able to beat when you were weaker and worse at the game? With a few boss fights thrown into the mix.
But that's because there's always something to find along the way for those games you mentioned. In Muramasa you're at Point A, Point B is the backtrack for a new item, and there's nothing new inbetween.
