Tecmo Koei sends word that we finally have a solid date for the Vita game Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus: Vita launch day. This retooling of PS3 game Ninja Gaiden Sigma adds use of the Vita's touchscreen, gyro sensor and rear touch pad. You'll be able to use the gyro sensor to target enemies and shoot projectiles, and use the rear touch pad to launch stronger Ninpo. More fingerprints!
"The Ninja Gaiden series lends itself to a great experience on this amazing new platform," says Yosuke Hayashi, Studio Head of Team NINJA. "We’re confident that gamers, both our fans and those new to the series, will find Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus to be a thrilling and challenging experience that lives up to the spirit of what the series is best known for while offering a host of new and portable gameplay mechanics."
Nice! That's yet another game I have to add to my list for February 22. You can see in the newly released screenshots below how great this title is looking.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Reinception
Quite right.
Well, it could be worse...they could be repackaging the sequel.
I have a feeling we'll get a retooled vita release of Sigma 2 as well.
I'd like to see the original 2D games in HD-visuals, would be awesome. Or maybe that Dragon Sword game on 3DS, never played the DS version.
Decided today I'm waiting a few months for my birthday to come to get this, even if I'm buying it with my money instead of asking someone close to me for it. Gives the whole process time to gel while giving me more time to get together money for games and shit (or even ask for even more games, since -you know- birthday and all).
Plus, I'm kind of a peripheral whore, waiting a few months will allow them to get more extra shit out (first and third party) and allow me the time to mull over my choices beyond the obligatory screen/touch protectors I always shoot to get (and probably give me more choices in brands for those too).
