Virgin Gaming has partnered with Microsoft to bring Xbox Live Gold subscribers the Xbox Tournament App. This app lets users browse, track, and enter tournaments directly from Xbox Live.

At launch, Madden NFL 13, FIFA 13, NHL 13 and NBA2K13 wil be supported, with more games coming soon. Three-round, free-entry tourneys let anyone jump in and win money, but you'll likely need to be good to get to the top of the $100,000 tournament and leaderboard challenge, set to run from April 9 through May 6, 2013.

Availability starts off with USA, Canada and UK, with more territories to be added soon.

To get going, register an account at http://virgingaming.com/xbox and download the app from the Xbox Live.
