According to the
online portfolio of Dan "I've Got a Big Mouth" Savage, an update of
Vigilante 8 is (or was) in the works for distribution over Xbox Live Arcade.
Vigilante 8 was one of those popular "smash the crap out of other vehicles" games that appeared on the Nintendo 64, PlayStation, and (for some reason) the Game Boy Color.
Savage, a Canadian level designer/environmental artist, thought it would be a good idea to proudly display the project on his online portfolio.
Angry-Gamer did some research and came across resumes for two other designers who claim to have worked on the project, as well as a parked
GoDaddy page where the developer's site should have been.
This all points to a few things -- the game could have been canceled; it could not be finished; or someone doesn't know how to make a Web site. Activision, who owns the property right for the series, was too busy swimming in a pool of
Guitar Hero II money to comment.
Twisted Metal had one good game were as V8 was 2/2.
Bring it, cause it has already been bought.
if it were to come to XBLA, would it be a port of the N64 or Playstation version?
I don't think it would be a port. It would be an HD remake, it looks like.
Chado:
I thought that, too, for a second. But it wasn't; only the sequel came to the Dreamcast.
More fun facts, the game was a spin-off of the game Interstate '76 which used the MechWarrior 2 engine. Also, cocks.
I still want a NEW and BETTER Twisted Metal. I thought Black was pretty good, I mean, I was happy with that after 3 and 4 came out cause those games were worthless.
Either way, PS3 Twisted Metal FTW!
Hope it happens
+ ONLINE!
PASS.
I was always that gold car that shot Cyclops lasers, bitchin
Wrong.
Twisted Metal II was far superior to any other car combat game. Far. V8 was good and different and a bit more realistic (Vehicles handled more realistically, and could only hold three weapons. Also there were no magical powers like sheilds and inviso). But it was not as fun.
TMII was more fighting game than driving game. And probably more than just about any other game, the different characters needed to be treated differently. What with the automatically recharging special weapons and the different handling and toughness. Attacking an Axel was completely different than a Mr. Grim or an Thumper.
Someone needs to remake TMII just as it was, with better graphics. That said, the Hoover Dam level of V8 was great.
