The first game was a superb action adventure, and these additions sound fantastic. I, too, love loot!
I love loot. It's a rare case when loot actually sucks...like in Dragon Age 2.
@Darksiders II You give me an Eric in my undies. I adored the first and think it's the best game from this generation. If this is able to better the first my Eric might explode.
Yours,
A Massive Fanboy.
Secondly, the concept of feeding items to your weapon is awesome. I know this mechanic is essentially the same as other systems in other games, but the presentation is just perfect for Darksiders.
This however... looks pretty fucking fantastic. It isn't often that I pass on a game only to play the sequel, but this looks like one of those situations.
Still looks great, and I'm sure I'll get over my qualms about it by release date.
@Occam
You might be a king or a little street sweeper, but sooner or later you dance with the reaper. [Twirls Scythe over his head and ducks so blade doesn't hit it]
@BoomingEchoes I love you so much.
Scythes are the least practical and most awkward weapons in the world, this guy holds two, upside-down, backwards.
Its all so silly, like a Juggalo's fever dream.
Thats because they are more like kama. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kama_(weapon)
Albeit bit oversized blades (which is sorta standard in video games).
I honestly this game hasn't been on my radar at all, finally managed to atleast get my attention. Perhaps I should look more into this.
I thought the first game was "okay", though I loved the ending. made me say Fuck Yeah out loud haha. And no I'm not very vocal when playing by myself.
like I said, the art style may seem a bit odd, but the actual game looks like one of the best this year.
Then it would be the BEST GAME EVER!!!! 4.6 MILLION DAY ONE MOTHERFUCKER
Yeah.
Although the cynic in me did think when they described the Possessed Weapons thought "Okay, as long as I feed them enough to keep up with the drops I'm getting, why use anything else?" Good to see a variety, however. I really hope a full magic Death is viable on release. I always stray towards the physical because it's more reliable, typically more controlled rather than watching an animation and praying it completes, but I'm feeling that if you could weave some combos into magical spells without interrupting combat it could be mahvelous.
