Something's stalking us in Alien: Isolation's television ad

The latest piece of media for Creative Assembly's impending Alien: Isolation prods "How will you survive?" It's a fair question. With that hulking Xenomorph nimbly crawling out of the airshaft, stalking its prey before terrifyingly ending its life, it'll certainly be a tough task. When the game releases on October 7, the most likely answer will probably be "There's a good chance we won't."

Max's five reasons Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor kicks ass

Like Max, I didn't know what to make of Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor but taking a guarded approach has paid off -- the reviews are in and they're overwhelmingly positive. Nice surprise! Still not sure I'll rush out to grab the game at launch on Tuesday -- I've got my hands full, as I'm sure many of you will shortly -- but it's much higher on my to-play list after this week.

Far Cry 4's Pagan Min teaches a man to scream for help, not text for help

Poor Pagan Min. He tries ruling his regime with a positive influence, but all those terrorists are there to just, ahem, "muck" it up. Maybe his tendencies to take hostages and implement electroshock torture aren't viewed by everyone as "positive," but it's tough to argue with such a snazzy dresser.

Sprout some wings and take an aerial tour of Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell and New Hades with Johnny Gat acting as a murderous guide. From everything I've heard of Alien: Isolation, it's best not to run around when you think the coast is clear much less when the Xenomorph is right there in the same room. See: the trailer above. Of course we checked out Far Cry 4's elephant booty physics at PAX

Prior to this video being shot, Max may have taken a double dose of the assorted pills that truckers use to drive 36 consecutive hours. I can't be sure. It wasn't my day to keep track of him. But, the point you should take away from this is how realistic that elephant's ass (probably) looks. With booty physics like that, it's no wonder Far Cry 4 ended up as one of our top games of PAX Prime.

Dead Island 2 PAX impressions

Having only seen Dead Island 2 and not played it yet, I'm in agreement with Max here. It does look like a decent-enough zombie game, and a much better take on the property than Riptide .. but it's still Dead Island. There comes a point at which you've simply had enough.
