How long can you survive in Out There: Omega Edition?

Out There: Omega Edition by Mi-Clos Studio is certainly a pretty little thing. Don't let its eye-catching pulp-comic appearance fool you, though. It's a difficult game. Think Oregon Trail meets FTL and you'll have a goo...

Jump'N'Shoot Attack! aims to be the next big anti-mobile game

It wasn't that long ago that auto-run platformers were novel, even quaint. Bit.Trip RUNNER, Canabalt, Vib-Ribbon, and even Anthony Burch's Runner all managed to get out to the market before Endless Runner stigma became a par...

School of Ragnarok is Square Enix's 1-on-1 arcade fighter

If you are in Japan or going sometime this year (and want to take me with you!), you can play Square Enix's newest title, School of Ragnarok. The one-versus-one fighter is more of a Gundam VS (or maybe Square's own Diss...

Resident Evil is The Beatles, The Last of Us is The Offspring photo
Resident Evil is The Beatles, The Last of Us is The Offspring
by Jonathan Holmes

Resident Evil: Revelations 2 is the latest episodic game series about a grizzled man with a dark past protecting a mysterious child survive a zombie or zombie-like danger scenario.

Our own Alessandro Fillari recently had the chance to get some time in with the Barry Burton side of the game's campaign, as well as the new iteration of its score-focused Raid Mode. Both of these modes may be a little more strange than Alessandro led you to believe. Either that or he just has a much higher tolerance for weirdness than I do. From where I stand, this game looks bananas.

This video was initially planned to be about a minute long, working as little supplement to Alessandro's write-up. Before I knew it, I was seamlessly splicing together sound-alike pop songs from different generations of music history, giving The Last of Us a new name, making a supercut of some of Barry Burton's best lines from Revelations 2, and erasing the whiteness around the one and only Sherlock Hemlock.

If you have half as much fun watching this video as I had making it, then you're about to have an above-average amount of fun.

You can slice the Moon in half in next week's Hyrule Warriors DLC!

In this trailer overviewing the Majora's Mask DLC for Hyrule Warriors, we get to see Young Link don the Fierce Deity's mask and cut the Moon in half. My dark fantasy has finally been realized. There's more excitement abound:...

Misanthropes rejoice: Evolve's solo mode is looking good

Sometimes I am in the mood for good competitive multiplayer action, and thus far Evolve has looked like it will be up to that task. Other times, I'd rather not deal with other people, and that's okay with Turtle Rock's multi...

OlliOlli 2: Welcome to Olliwood debuts its first trailer photo
OlliOlli 2: Welcome to Olliwood debuts its first trailer
by Chris Carter

OlliOlli took off like a storm after it hit the Vita. While it was an unassuming indie skating game, its quality spoke for itself, and it's a certified success at this point. Developer Roll7 didn't rest on its laurels though, as the studio is now showing off its first footage for the sequel, OlliOlli2: Welcome to Olliwood for the PS4 and Vita.

It'll feature new tricks, a local multiplayer mode, new environments, and multiple routes. The development team notes that it has tried its hardest to make every stage feel unique, and four players will now be supported by way of split-screen.

Yep, I'm very interested in this. The current release window is still "2015."

Real life Ryu wrecks car with his bare hands

I hope that car was non-running and cheaper to junk than fix, or else that's a waste of a perfectly good little car. Not that we all haven't thought about letting the aggressions out and possibly hurting ourselves while destroying some property. Just think about taking a baseball bat to some cheap, boardwalk-prize glassware. I could go for one of those right now.

Combo Queen brings jiggle physics to an SNES aesthetic

It's not that animated breasts are all Combo Queen has going for it. They're just the first thing I noticed clicking around the trailer and ending up on a bouncy idle animation.  The pixel art here is rather lovely...

Badland is coming to consoles with a Game of the Year edition photo
Badland is coming to consoles with a Game of the Year edition
by Chris Carter

Badland is still one of my favorite iOS games to date, and it looks like it's coming to the Wii U eShop, Xbox One, Vita, PC, PS3, and PS4. Developer Frogmind Games is crafting a new Game of the Year version for the console, which adds in 100 solo levels and 100 co-op stages. There's no set date yet but we can likely expect it in 2015.

Some of you may scoff at the "Game of the Year" notion, but many mobile sites legitimately awarded the game with that honor in 2013. It's definitely worth checking out, as co-op worked great, even on an iPad.

Years later, Torchlight II is almost ready for Mac
