and 'they designed it to be addictive'. well, duh. that's pretty much the goal of every single product ever created. people want to make money and they want to sell lots of EVERYTHING. that's the way the world works. if i killed myself while eating really delicious hybrid tomatoes, and i loved those tomatoes and ate them every day because they were so damn good...we can't blame the tomatoes for my problems because someone designed them to be really good so i would want to keep eating them.
and as soon i heard that gamers org name and saw the lady, i thought, 'yep, older mother'. bad that her son killed himself, but depression is incredibly common, and withdrawing is a symptom. if she has this organization, i would hope she uses it not to keep companies from making games, or to keep people from buying games, but to help parents look for signs that maybe their children might be having problems, and possible solutions or resources to help these kids, instead of just fingerpointing.
