A new trailer, as well as plenty of screenshots for both the DS and Wii version, have all just come out. I was really looking forward to playing this game and I finally did have a chance last week on the Wii. Unfortunately, I walked away extremely disappointed.

I didn't play too many of the events to give a proper hands-on report, but what I did play just left a bad taste in my mouth. I did some fencing, skit shooting, archery, and hurdles and the more I played, the more uninterested I got. I think the allure of Sega mascots Vs Nintendo mascots has been giving false hope to a lot of people -- and will undoubtedly sell massive quantities just for that fact.

The controls are simple, the characters look extremely nice, but there's is no depth at all to Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games. Which I guess is the point as since this is aimed at the casual market. Only problem is, it's the die hards and hardcore old school gamers who have been looking forward to something of this caliber the most -- Sega Vs Nintendo.

At least there's still Brawl for that though, right?

Actually looks really good, cept for the running events, that just can't work. Looks like a reason to hold on to the Wii for a little while longer.

Not surprised, there hasn't been a good game based on the Olympics since Track & Field II for the NES.

Archery looks like fun. It's about time we did some bow shooting using the nunchuck as well as the Wiimote.

You expected depth? Really?

I mean, this game's got Amy in it.

I think it is what it is, and I'm gonna take it for face value. I don't think it will bring us any closer to the end of the Sega Vs. Nintendo war. But I think it will be a fun collection of mini games. Not going into this with my hopes up for an amazing game.

So it's basically Mario Party meets Sonic posse.

Good idea for the casual gamer.

Hardcore gamers grab a barf bag. You'll need it.

I loved watching this game being demo'd in front of 5000 people, and watching the Wii controls fail so hard.

Part of the thing that pushes me away, besides the fact of me not owning a Wii, is all the fake happy people in the trailer or whatever. Lying to me trying to say "This game, were people actually have a chance to beat Sonic inf a foot race, is very fun".

Damn happy people... with their smiles... and their "happy".

Dear Santa, for this Xmas I want the Gamevideos.com offices to burn to the ground and the remains of it eaten by sharks. Thanks in advance.

Why do people have a battered wife syndromw with Sega? They've been nothing short of utter shit for over a decade now, what we used to love them for does not exist anymore, they are just a name living on past glories.

This game was always going to suck, I don't know why anyone would give a second to consider otherwise. As for Nintendo, this is the worst creative decsision they have made since Zelda on the 3DO, whoreing out Mario to an incompetent developer like Sonic Team is a baffling decision, becuase believe it or not, I think there is a strong possibility that this game won't sell anywhere near the amount they think it will.

-> Danger shark: Methinks the war is over. Nintendo continue to rake in ungodly sums of cashwads, while sega make the odd usually pants game.

In any case, most of the minigames in this look pretty damn similar to rayman raving rabbids, just with a lot less games and a hell of a lot less character, besides the "zomg its mario nd sonic 2getehr wtf lolol".

Sonic being announced for Smash took out any and all of the wind this game may have had in its sails.

And again, nobody in that line-up would be able to beat Sonic in a freaking footrace. Tails and Knuckles might be able to sort of keep up, but none of the Mario characters would stand a chance. Robotnik (or Eggman or whatever the hell he's called these days) and Bowser being there is just a joke. This game fails for being totally untrue to real life.
