@Jim: Nice to hear this is good. I've been keeping a lazy eye on this and after my recent play run of whizz-bang shooty games, I could use something with a little more atmosphere and bite.
I would be interested if it wasn't announce too long ago.
I'll copy and paste this for GT5.
Hey look I made the same point 1251 was trying to make without PMSing like a little bitch.
Your outrage means Jim Sterling has won. He likes to bait out butthurt, wannabe Internet vigilantes.
And if you already made your mind up about the game, why complain that you don't need Jim's opinion? He didn't fucking force you to read it.
To add to this you make statements like "I already knew the game was going to suck"
You're a horrible little troll
GTFO
Seriously though, I'm pretty excited for this one, and I've liked what I've read from several sites I tend to match up with opinion-wise. Not too much hyperbole, here or elsewhere, which I think is a nice trend in reviews. I got tired of hearing how every title was either the greatest or the worst ever for a couple years. Great review Jim!
And why would I address your actual argument? You can't proof-read it, therefore you don't deem it that important in the first place. And most importantly, you complain about Jim Sterling trolling at the expense of Heavy Rain in an Alan Wake review, while bitching about one line of text in said review.
Was his stab at a different video game necessary? Not at all. Was your tangent about that stab in a comment section about the actual game necessary? Even less so.
Try re-reading the first sentence of your last post in a whining valley girl voice. It'll give you a good sense of how you sound to me. Actually, it makes your whole cry-fest more entertaining. Double points if you post an MP3 of it.
AWESOME!!! No decision to be made, Im getting all three.
@ Aurain - Im resingned to the fact GT5 is probably never going to happen :-(
I don't know why I got sucked into this. You're so egotistical that you believe anyone against you is in league with Jim, or that anyone in league with Jim is against you, and if someone does bother challenging your shitty arguments, you resort to ad hominem to make yourself feel smarter than them, thus negating any need for actual reflection on your part.
You can't even argue your point, and on a website based around social interaction, that makes you the cancer.
Oh and 1251, as everyone has said, you're taking Jim's jokes far too seriously.
I give you full credit sir for being one of the few here to see the truth.
Sterling is pretty lame and hypocritical at the best of times, yet some of these fanboys cream over every word.
They think the ''James Cameron's James cameron the game'' Joke is still funny, even after like a year, when at beast it was only mildly amusing first time round.
The guy doesn't like Fallout 3, and calls soccer fans idiots for buying a soccer game while in the same breath championing a barely updated street fighter retail game.
Credit to you for not going along with the sheeple.
Why don't the two of you get a room already?
And seeing this seems to be the thread for picking on errors, you wrote "beast" when you clearly meant "best".
..and also to those aforementioned fuckwits, my PC is almost certainly better than yours. Whining cunts.
I would recommend a break from video games to sort your life out because you hate someone who has done nothing to you as a person.
Game sounds decent. Shocked that a QTE game and one that pulls cheap kills at you, while not pushing any graphical boundaries, warranted such a high score. Seems like 360 actually has an exclusive that caught my eye.
There is no bias, look up Jims reviews of the good PS3 exclusives like LBP, Killzone 2, Uncharted 2, MGS4 etc. He just didn't think Heavy Rain was superb and so he made a tiny little joke here, which you have managed in your head to blow out of all proportions. Take the review for what it is and move on.
If I wanted a 360, I'd... No, wait. I'm skint.
The point is the PC gamers are *pissed off* that it was canceled for the PC. We're sick of being sodomized by the gaming industry in one form or another, whether it's the length companies to go in their DRM (*cough*UbiSoft*cough*), extremely shitty ports (*cough*Driv3r and many more*cough*), delayed releases (*cough*Fable, Mirror's Edge, Creed of Asses 2*cough*) or non-existent DLC that other platforms got (*cough*Racedriver: GRID*cough).
If you don't understand that, fine. But we have damn good reasons to be pissed off at things.
Now please, STFU. :)
Someone who isn't you doesn't think like you, act like you or share the same ideals that you do. Thats life. And no amount of you telling people how wrong they are is going to change the way they have developed and grown; especially when you insult them while doing it.
I can see where you are coming from, Jim does use some snarky comments, he does jab and poke at other games while putting his own on a pedestal, but thats just Jim Sterling, and some people like the way he does things. Not you, obviously, but OTHERS do. They aren't sheep, they aren't stupid, they aren't douchebags. They just aren't you.
From what I understand you are looking forward to the game, so I can understand why reading a review of it by someone you don't like or agree with would be annoying, but you can't expect the rest of the world to bend around you and give you everything you want.
I dunno. I'm not trying to start shit or anything. Just thinking out loud I guess.
Just ignore the review and go have fun with the game, man.
