Video preview of The Darkness; ready your wallets, horror fans

     Shooters

As new videos, images, and tidbits of information about Starbreeze’s The Darkness have been popping up lately, I’ve become more and more obsessed with the game. Yes, it is another first-person shooter. But, The Darkness isn't an average, ordinary FPS. Here’s why:

  • •If the opening sequence for the game is any indication as to how the storyline will be, The Darkness should prove to be very entertaining during actual gameplay and throughout cut-scenes.
  • Mike Patton provides the voice for the darkness. ‘Nuff said.
  • •You have a variety of powers at your disposal, including: summoning Darklings, creating black holes, and (insert hentai joke here) demon tentacles.
  • •Last, but certainly not least, the game’s incredible graphics. The atmosphere and gore really make The Darkness an immersive and gruesome experience.

The Darkness is slated for a June 25 release date for both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. So start saving those pennies! If you still can’t get enough of this game, I suggest that you mess around on this Web site for a while.

I agree, but hey either way, this game is MINE. After Riddick, I have high hopes for Starbreeze that I'm sure they'll fill.

I mean taking a universe like The Darkness and putting it together with Starbreeze was genius to begin with. When I first read that and saw pics I fapped, mentally.

..Then physically.

This is the sexiest Darkness video I have seen yet. Each gun hand looks semi-independent. I wonder how they will let you control that.

Another cool factoid: if you look at the achievement list, apparently you can take down airplanes.

Mafia? Malevolent powers? It sounds like "The Godfather" meets "Diablo", and it sounds good.

I picked up the comics during first release. I can't say I liked it. I only got it because it was related to the Witchblade somewhat. I wonder if the Witchblade is here.
