actually I pretty much hate all DLC because I do think it is hurting the video game industry (killing the game industry is an exaggeration). This is just among the worst offenders.

How is this killing the game industry? The people who want the map packs buy it. Their pricing obviously isn't hurting their sales. Also instead of breaking the pricing down into percentages, think of buying the disc as being a club (pay to get in) and then get gouged on drink prices.

Basically these map packs are a workaround to get COD players to pay a subscription without thinking they're paying for a subscription. You know the hardcore players are gonna buy it to keep up.
DLC nowadays is hurting the industry just like expansion packs of old were hurting the industry.

I got the first DLC but I. like most of the people I know on live have gotten over black ops rather completely so its doubtful i will ever get this

first off DLC is not hurting the industry. there is plenty of crap out there but there is also quality content. i bitched about the MW2 maps because it was $15 and you only got 3 new maps. however 4 new maps and a zombie map is awesome. this game has so much re-playability it's ridiculous(takes about 24 hours of gameplay to prestige in blops). if your not going to play it enough to get your moneys worth, or you dont really like the game, its simple, dont buy the DLC. otherwise, i cant wait to get my hands on this for ps3.

That stategy may "hurt" the consumer being nickled and dimed, but in the end it all comes around to piracy being at fault. Bullshit, that doesn't compensate for anything. All it does it treat paying customers like criminals even more than before. Asking people to spend another $7-10 (EA does this all the time) on games that they just paid $60 for is only driving even more people towards piracy.

And as more content is made available post initial purchase the more pirares will miss out on. Obviously the balance will shift and initial purchases will cost less. It's not a pleasant thought, of course, but the point I was getting at is that the digital distribution landscape was created by pirates. Good and bad.
We Figured out a way to cheat them, and now they are selling it back to us. Look at the access passes theyoffer for most online games. Same thing. Theyre attempting to tie up loose ends.
