It seems as though Nintendo was really trying to make up for their E3 presentation with the press conference tonight, doesn't it? Sure, we had to endure quite a bit of Wii Music stuff, but some of the other reveals have tickled even my cold, black heart.
The video above shows off some of the Wii's upcoming lineup. Footage of Taiko No Tatsujin, Sin and Punishment 2 and Punch-Out all make appearances here. We also get little glimpses of Animal Crossing and Dead Rising. Oh, and Endless Ocean 2! Well, they can't all be exciting.
I'm thrilled that Punch-Out is coming back (and that Little Mac is in it) because it's one of my favorite games both for NES and SNES, but I think Nintendo is going to have to work pretty hard to win back some of the hardcore audience that it has forsaken for so long. This is a step in the right direction, though. Let's just hope they keep walking that path.
What do you guys think? Is there enough here to make you dust off the old Wii again?

Some of that just looked amazing.
After E3 I was worryed to own a Wii, but now it's all OOOOOKKK.
Rune Factory(please not Japan only too), I want~
Punch Out, Sin & Punishment 2, Trace Memory and Fragile.
Maybe another 2 I couldn't read the title...
Some other titles looked pretty decent. Although there is something nasty about seeing some sort of world war 2 game with anime characters in.
And there were so many games I've never seen anything about before listed for 2009. What was that one with the little yellow ball guy bouncing around? Or the one with the Mii wielding some sort of whip sword?
I'm intrigued to say the least.
:O
Anyone now dissatisfied with the forthcoming Wii lineup is a whiny, useless speck of humanity.
But, I can honestly say, seeing the new Punch Out!! has made me totally interested in the system again. The biggest smile came to my face when I saw that tiny clip and the thought of 'Do Want' entered my head.
...I'm weak.
Most importantly, it's the real Lil' Mac. Not that dopey green haired arcade chud or that 16-bit blonde puss. The real deal.
Also, Glass Joe makes his triumphant return by getting totally merc'd and spitting croissants everywhere. (Like Wrestlemania arcade where Yokozuna drops ham and fish when you slap him around!)
Life is good.
I'll be keeping an eye on Sin and Punishment 2, it looks awesome.

That's 13 games from Nintendo themselves all scheduled to come out in 2009 thus far, and you can be sure more will be on the way for holiday 2009 as well. That's already more then a title a month. Of course this is for Japan so we probably won't see a couple of these games, but still we'll likely see most of them. So if anyone still thinks that Nintendo doesn't care about the hardcore than you're delusional.
Because they care about everyone's money equally just like Sony, and Microsoft. Sure the second half of 2008 is a bit of a dry spell for the Wii, but relief is coming, and not just from Nintendo because there are some really great looking 3rd Party games coming in 2009 as well. So all is not lost in Nintendo land just yet. Unless you want to be lost, and if that's the case well than good bye, and good riddance to you!
Other than that, there is good amount of awesomeness in there.
Oh man, I am remembering why I used to be such a Nintendo fanboy...
The hack and slash game look potentially neat too.
Also, fragile is looking awesome.
