It seems as though Nintendo was really trying to make up for their E3 presentation with the press conference tonight, doesn't it? Sure, we had to endure quite a bit of Wii Music stuff, but some of the other reveals have tickled even my cold, black heart.

The video above shows off some of the Wii's upcoming lineup. Footage of Taiko No Tatsujin, Sin and Punishment 2 and Punch-Out all make appearances here. We also get little glimpses of Animal Crossing and Dead Rising. Oh, and Endless Ocean 2! Well, they can't all be exciting.

I'm thrilled that Punch-Out is coming back (and that Little Mac is in it) because it's one of my favorite games both for NES and SNES, but I think Nintendo is going to have to work pretty hard to win back some of the hardcore audience that it has forsaken for so long. This is a step in the right direction, though. Let's just hope they keep walking that path.

What do you guys think? Is there enough here to make you dust off the old Wii again?

[Thanks Gynecologist Cobra

I don't read Japanese, but some of the nice moving pictures looked like they could be interesting. Isn't there a new Fatal Frame for the Wii out in Japan? Weren't they brining that over Stateside? I wan't to here the news on that.

Oh yeah good times ahead, and time for another loan to buy some more games.

Fuck yeah Sin & Punishment 2. A 3D Trace Memory looks awesome too, the developers did a nice job with physical puzzles on the DS, so I'd hope it'd translate to Wii well. This makes the system worth like... maaaaaybe $100 to me now! Nothing groundbreaking there, but at least SOMETHING playable might exist for the system in the future, unlike this year.

In other news, it's still a fucking joke they haven't brought back Pilot Wings, when it's tailor made for this fucking console. Still a top 5 N64 game for me.

Awesome! Sin & Punishmen 2! Looks great. Of course punchout!!
Some other titles looked pretty decent. Although there is something nasty about seeing some sort of world war 2 game with anime characters in.

New Punch-Out = total win.

And there were so many games I've never seen anything about before listed for 2009. What was that one with the little yellow ball guy bouncing around? Or the one with the Mii wielding some sort of whip sword?

I'm intrigued to say the least.

There's also a lot of original IP in there we've never heard of before.
Anyone now dissatisfied with the forthcoming Wii lineup is a whiny, useless speck of humanity.

That all well and good but is it the Punch-Out we know and love or is it Wii Sports like Punch-Out for grandpa, grandma and soccer moms.

I was just telling my friends the other day that I was pretty much done with the Wii. After the two weeks of excitement that Brawl brought to me back in May, I haven't touched the system since, occasionally being tempted to give No More Heroes another run through.

But, I can honestly say, seeing the new Punch Out!! has made me totally interested in the system again. The biggest smile came to my face when I saw that tiny clip and the thought of 'Do Want' entered my head.

...I'm weak.

Was that a cell shaded Punch-Out!!? I mean, some of those titles looked really interesting, but Punch-Out!! has to be at the top of my list.

Meh, three or four years from now I could see myself getting a Wii and playing the 20 games I wanted to play for it. Looks like there are about 5 of them in that video, so thats cool.

Thank the sweet lord, NEW PUNCH-OUT!!

Most importantly, it's the real Lil' Mac. Not that dopey green haired arcade chud or that 16-bit blonde puss. The real deal.

Also, Glass Joe makes his triumphant return by getting totally merc'd and spitting croissants everywhere. (Like Wrestlemania arcade where Yokozuna drops ham and fish when you slap him around!)

Life is good.

Man, I was semi-pumped for what was coming up for the Wii but now I'm really excited for the upcoming year. S and P 2 people! That's what we should be excited for.

When I woke up this morning to news of "Sin & Punishment 2," I prettymuch questioned whether or not I had woken up at all. It looks like the odd feeling that the trophy in SSB: Brawl gave me may have actually meant something. A rail shooter on Wii could be a match made in heaven.

I'll be keeping an eye on Sin and Punishment 2, it looks awesome.

1. Wii Sports Resort (Nintendo) Spring
2. Start w/ 100 Conversations! English Conversation (Nintendo) 2009
3. Punch-Out!! (Nintendo) 2009
4. Trace Memory: R, Gateway of Memory (Nintendo) 2009
5. Kensax (Nintendo) 2009
6. Cosmic Walker (Nintendo) 2009
7. Spawn Smasher (Nintendo) 2009
8. Dynamic [illegible] (Nintendo) 2009
9. Takt of Magic (Nintendo) 2009
10. Sin & Punishment 2 (Nintendo) 2009
11. Forever Blue 2: Beautiful Ocean (Nintendo) 2009
12. Everyone’s the Star on the NHK Red-and-White Quiz Battle (Nintendo) 2009
13. Line Attack Heroes (Nintendo) 2009

That's 13 games from Nintendo themselves all scheduled to come out in 2009 thus far, and you can be sure more will be on the way for holiday 2009 as well. That's already more then a title a month. Of course this is for Japan so we probably won't see a couple of these games, but still we'll likely see most of them. So if anyone still thinks that Nintendo doesn't care about the hardcore than you're delusional.

Because they care about everyone's money equally just like Sony, and Microsoft. Sure the second half of 2008 is a bit of a dry spell for the Wii, but relief is coming, and not just from Nintendo because there are some really great looking 3rd Party games coming in 2009 as well. So all is not lost in Nintendo land just yet. Unless you want to be lost, and if that's the case well than good bye, and good riddance to you!

So thats the video clip Nintendo chose to show off Castlevania? Its like they know it's going to be terrible.

Other than that, there is good amount of awesomeness in there.

I'd gone a bit cold on my beloved Wii since purchasing a 360 about a month ago, but this, THIS warmed my Wii-lovin' heart. I saw AT LEAST 5 games in that video I was all "DO WANT!!!!11!" about! I shoulda known better than to cast doubt on my little white box. Sorry Xbox, you're gonna take the backseat here pretty soon...

When Little Mac punched out Glass Joe, did a bunch of croissants fly out? That was awesome.

Oh man, I am remembering why I used to be such a Nintendo fanboy...

The skiing game and the zero gravity game looked cool. As did that one hack-and-slasher with the giants. I wish I knew what these games were called.
