Destructoid's first proper gaming event in my hometown of Miami took place last Friday and we couldn't be happier with the turnout.  We actually missed our own after party because the Gears of War 2 tournament ran until 3am in the morning! Next time we'll have a sleepover. No, I'm dead serious.

One of the things that has driven me to push Destructoid forward is the lack of gaming anything in South Florida, so I'm fortunate to have found so many like-minded friends here to make this happen.  If you're in town and missed our NARP don't worry -- we're already talking about the next one. Until then join us every Friday online for Friday Night Fights or stop by in person this February in Coconut Grove for Community Vibes IV ... and the second Miami NARP to follow shortly thereafter. We won't sleep until we turn this into a big gaming town!

i had an awesome time. i didn't eat one of those Epic Sugarworks lollipops till the next day, but it was hands down the best fucking thing i've ever tasted.

It was really fun. I lost track of time and it seemed to go by real fast. Wish Left4Dead had 4 player Co-op though. Also, I came.

Damn. I really wanted to come, but I had already promised to help a friend of mine set up a Gears tourney over in U of Miami. We had a relatively good turnout, but I still would have liked to have met some destructoid folks. Hopefully I'll make the February event.

That was so epic.

I'm from Miami, but I went to Philadelphia that weekend for VG Expo and I wish I wouldn't have wasted all that money just to be in the freaking COLD. >: I met a lot of awesome people in Philly, and everyone in the Retrocon room was awesome, but as far as actual gaming, this looked more fun.

Oh well. Next time I'll be there.
