Video Games Live performances now in CD and mp3 form photo

If you have ever made it out to a Video Games Live show, you would know that it can leave you wanting more. PR blurb time:

Video Games Live: Volume One will be released in two stages: The digital release will be downloadable in the UK from July 7th, 2008, with the option to pre-order it a week earlier on iTunes and other DSP’s (Digital Service Providers) with that capability; the release of the CD and iTunes exclusive, including digital bonus tracks, will be staggered to coincide with Video Games Live events, beginning in San Diego, California on July 24th (North America) and Leipzig, Germany on August 20th (Europe and worldwide).

Tracks from Halo, Warcraft, Kingdom Hearts, Tetris, Castlevania, Myst, Tron and more. For the full tracklist and more info, click here to head to the VGL site for the deets.

Sweet. I actually went to the one in Chicago, and it was a mighty good show.

I was at the NY show, and I just wanted to point out how beautiful the Medal of Honor section was. That caught me by surprise, as I had never listened to the music from that game before. It was quite touching.

Otherwise, the whole show was great.

I was at the NY show as well, and I was very upset they didn't have a VGL CD for sale at the time. Consider this purchased,

I was at the NY show as well, with Samit and Power Glove.

Best part: when Tallarico introduce the president of Capcom, and some fanboy yells out " why do you hate the PS3 so much!". Roffle.

But yeah Do Want! And VGL is awesome; definitely go if they're in town.

Best picture ever!

I'll keep an eye out for this (I refuse to use iPods/iTunes) even though I'm disappointed at the lack of Final Fantasy on the CD. (rights issues?)

I wish they'd release a dvd, watching the game footage makes it much more interesting.

I love the idea of VGL. I've been to it twice, once in LA and once in San Fran. TT hams it up quite a bit, but it gets the audience excited.

It's a pretty nice looking album cover and good track list. I'm also glad they credit not just the composers but the orchestrators for making the music awesome.

I went to one of the performances in LA. It was sweet. David Hayter was there, and Steve Vai came out and rocked the Halo theme. All said, it was a great show.
