Video Games Live gets Overclocked photo

Video game remix web site Overclocked Remix has partnered up with Video Games Live to rock the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC this Friday and Saturday. You may already know about the epic touring game music concert series as we've covered it here at Destructoid several times, and founder Tommy Tallarico is a friend of the site, but Overclocked Remix might be new to some.

OCR (as the regulars call it) is a web site dedicated to video game music remixes and arrangements, and is arguably the most important in the small but growing video game remix scene. It was founded in 1999 by David Lloyd and has since become the internet's hub for game music lovers. The site contains thousands of songs by hundreds of musicians (including myself!), and even professionals like Jeremy Soule and George Sanger (a.k.a The Fat Man) have joined in on the fun.

Both Video Games Live and Overclocked Remix share the same goal of wanting to encourage and support the art of video game music, so it was only natural that they partner up.

"It's really amazing to be working with ocremix.org because I've always been such a huge fan of the site and the idea behind it," says Tommy Tallarico, co-founder of Video Games Live.  "As a video game composer, it's a real honor to know that so many people are so passionate about video game music."

Overclocked Remix will contribute musical content to the concert's opening and closing events as well as sponsor prizes for audience members.

If you're even remotely interested in game music, be sure to make it out to one of the Video Games Live performances. I attended the Dallas performance last week and it was incredible. If you're poor and still would like to hear what all the buzz is about, be sure to check out Overclocked Remix - hundreds of great songs are free for the taking, and you're certain to find something you'll like. Also, be sure to keep an eye out for the upcoming Destructoid Game Music Primer, which will help introduce people to the scene and give people some insight into this incredible community.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?

Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
