Destructoid is gaming news, community, videos, and sometimes love. Take the tour or jump in with Facebook:

If you haven't had a chance to check out Video Games Live, you're doing yourself a disservice. The peanut butter and jelly mix of  live musicians and a stunning, cutting-edge visual experience is unlike anything you'll ever see (although that Megadeth/Pantera concert I went to in high school comes pretty close).

Your list of excuses for not catching the show has dwindled. Video Games Live has announced 40 shows for 2008, which take the tour around the globe -- Taiwan, Brazil, Germany, France, England, Scotland, the United States ... you get the idea. Tommy Tallarico and Jack Wall will be bringing their production to a number of high profile industry events and conventions as well, including GDC, San Diego Comic-Con, Leipzig Games Convention, and more.

Hit the jump for a list of announced shows. I'm going to try to make it out to the New York City date in April and the show in Shanghai ... who's with me?

 Show Announcements:
Exact dates and venues for the following cities are to be announced (TBA) shortly:

Anaheim, CA
Atlanta, GA
Boston, MA
Brazil (multiple cities)
Dallas, TX
Glasgow, Scotland
Houston, TX
Indianapolis, IN
Los Angeles, CA
Milan, Italy
Paris, France
Shanghai, China
Winnipeg, MB

I went last year to the one in DC. Maybe the best $20 I've spent in my life.

I will try and catch it at Comic Con schedule permitting. Maybe a day trip to NY is also in order.

@Nick: Yep, I got my tickets for the NYC show a while back. I can’t wait! Also, I made a forum post (pretty much identical to my blog), and we may have some sort of “Dtoid meetup” get-together after the show, like going out for drinks or something. I always say, “The more, the merrier,” so if you can make it, we’d be honored for an editor to grace us with his/her presence. Hope to see you there!

The last show Video Games live did up here in Toronto kicked ass. I wonder if they've switched it up enough that I should go again?

Yes! I may actually be able to make it to the Louisville, KY one. A trip to New York City is just waayy too big and expensive for my pathetic full-time student budget to handle right now.

That's the problem with living where I do, you have to travel a good four/five hours just to get to a major city that hosts cool stuff like this.
