A game that takes place during World War II that isn't a first-person shooter? Can they ... can they do that? Yes, actually, they can. And by "they," I am of course referring to Replay Studios and its upcoming stealth game, Velvet Assassin.

If you're unfamiliar with Velvet Assassin, you'll want to read up on Nick's experience with the game. Up until this point, we weren't exactly sure when Velvet Assassin would be released, and we still don't have a specific date, but we do know that it'll be out on Xbox 360 and PC sometime this fall.

I've always opted for the gung-ho strategy over stealth when given the chance to do so, but Velvet Assassin's "Morphine Mode" and the way in which the story is presented through flashbacks are too intriguing for me to not want to try the game.

They gotta do something about that name. It's not that big a deal, but still...

Ooh, yes. This does look interesting. And it's coming out for PC, my platform of choice in nearly everything.

Looking forward to it (but not too much, because hype kills.)

WWII spy game? Nice! I think the idea has been tried before but failed if I remember correctly some war camp game on the N64. Would like to see the idea done correctly as WWII has a lot of espionage material to draw from.

Mmmm, nothing finer than a stealth game done right. Any idiot developer can make a game character "sneak" but the key to making a good stealth game is everything else. The lighting, the music, the sounds, the AI reaction, the shadows, etc etc. Everything should be fine tuned with sneaking in mind.

I absolutely hate games that try to force sneaking without putting much thought in to it.

I'm a sucker for stealth games. Favourite genre ever, far too few games for it.

No need for a name change either...
