Velvet Assassin model not just a pretty face, voices character in-game, more photo

What's a gaming expo booth without a "booth babe," really? Gamecock of all people understand this, and decide to bring along their own -- a leather-clad, pistol-wielding model dressed like Velvet Assassin's sneaky protagonist Violette Summer.

The surprise: the lady in question is no mere model/actress hired off the street. We were surprised to learn that Melinda Cohen (picture above) not only looks the part, but acts the part, too -- literally. Melinda provides the voice for Velvet Assassin's in-game character in not one, but two languages: German and English (she's fluent in both languages).

On top of that, Melinda also did motion capture work for Velvet Assassin. So when you're bending a guard back to stab him deep in his chest ... yeah, that's totally her.

Look for more of Melinda in some upcoming live-action Velvet Assassin promotional spots; Velvet Assassin hits Xbox 360 and PC this fall.

More actors and actresses should be this involved. Maybe then they can get the word out on how they aren't paid enough compared to actors in other industries.

That poor woman was so despondent looking at the booth... my girlfriend asked for a picture with her, and she was almost ecstatic that she didn't have to put a gun to her head.

If you ever read this, we are both sorry for 99% of the people who came up to see you ;)

Damn, girl is cute! It's always disappointing when you see a character's voice actress and they look homely. Nice to see a voice actress actually look the part, let alone go through all of the motions AND model herself.

lol suff0cat. That game looks to be very hot, from the walk through I saw at PAX I'm sceptically excited.

That's pretty awesome. If only they could do the same with Lara Croft. Let's just hope the game doesn't suck.

That is awesome. Seriously that probably deserved the most kudos and respect I've dished out in a long time.

I've been hyped for this game but then I saw the footage of the stealth system and it was just...Off. Guess what, a fence does not cast enough of a shadow to hide anyone in broad daylight. Especially when the baddies are standing just 5 feet away. A little thing called ambient light...

Having the actress/model this involved is definitely a trend I would like to see set.

I hope this game turns out well.

I always feel sad for the neglected actor / person who sits alone at cons, waiting for someone to rid them of their boredom. Such is the risk of 'up close and personal' exposure.

Wow, that's really cool.

And that's all I have to say.

I had a fun conversation with Melinda, it was nice of her to take the time out for a chat. She has a great personality, and is very eager to see this game work out. Really humbled by her energy at the show. ^_^
