Valve says no Left 4 Dead on PS3: Quashes rumor of EA port photo
     Valve

A few days ago, we commented on a story coming from Official PlayStation Magazine that claimed Valve was using Electronic Arts to port Left 4 Dead to the PS3. This turned out to be mere speculation, however, and Valve's Doug Lombardi has stepped up to topple down the hopes and dreams of zombie loving PlayStation fans by denying that a Left 4 Dead PS3 version is in the works.

"There is no PS3 version of Left 4 Dead currently in production," was Lombardi's comment on the rumor. Sometimes I think rumor-mongers make stuff up and just hope some of their ideas stick. Hmm ... now that's an idea ...

Anyway, just because Valve says one isn't currently in production, that doesn't mean it won't happen eventually. EA was kind enough to port The Orange Box to the PS3, so it's not like a precedent doesn't exist. Blu-ray lovers, however, will have to wait and see if first person zombie genocide is indeed a part of their future.

Whoops... But my disappointment needs to be stressed. I am sorry though, but not as sorry as those motherfucking zombies would have been.

Oh well, it's not a console game anyway. Valves games are 1000x better on the PC since it's ported down to the watered down PCs known as consoles anyway.

I still believe, that EA will port this. Regardless of what Valve is saying.
EA loves money and porting this to the PS3 will make money. So there.

It'll come eventually. Just like MGS4 will go to the 360 eventually.

The Orange Box is already ported. Same engine = easy port.

How can a company be both geniuses and complete idiots at the same time? It's like what Jon2309 said, it would be very easy to get it onto the PS3 thanks to the Orange Box.

Also,
MORE CONSOLES = MORE $$$! COMPANIES LIKE $$$! YOU LIKE MONEY! Jesus!

I can understand the whole not wanting to dev, like valve does, but they need to change their attitude if they want to continue- being an xbox dev isn't much different from being a PC dev from a $ and technical perspective since they are very similar machines (it's microsoft, so go figure), but sooner or later if you don't dev for the PS3 you are losing out on a chunk of change- I have a PS3 and don't really want to touch the 360 because of stability- everyone I know had to return it at least once and a couple of people I know (one being the minister that will be performing our wedding) had to return it 3 or more times for RROD. I don't want to play games on PC right now because if I am playing on a console I am kicking back on the couch instead of sitting in front of the computer, so with work being as nuts as it has been, it is a lot more appealing.

Did you not see one of the other front-page articles? It said they were open to the idea being bought out. They're not in it for the money, you say?

I'm still not sure why people are cumming buckets over this game...

It's just a new FPS with zombies. Woo. That's some high-caliber gaming right there.

All he said is that Valve is not currently working on a PS3 version. Everyones taking it out of context, and I'm sure he knew you would.
