Valve is working on multiple Team Fortress 2 updates photo

Big surprise, right? While it's become almost expected of Valve to be constantly working on new Team Fortress 2 content, the game isn't going to continuously change for all eternity. So in that regard, it's reassuring to hear Valve's Robin Walker discuss what the team has in store for us.

Community Fortress got a hold of Walker recently, asking about all sorts of topics related to the future of TF2. In particular, the question of what's on the way now that the Engineer is the only class left received an interesting answer.

"We've got multiple updates in the works still, at least one of which will land before the Engineer pack." As per usual, Valve considers feedback essential to this ongoing support, so the team hasn't "planned too much out beyond that point."

When asked about the possibility of there being more timed events, Walker responded with "I think so. The technology behind TF2 is collecting features with each update we do, so each time we have a new idea, it's often easier to do than the last."

"I think we'll continue to try to do something new with each update, even if it's a small twist on a previous idea."

I'm all for more TF2 updates to tide me over until I can upgrade my rig to run Half-Life 3.

This is why I love Valve and Steam.
They actually care about users.

Fuck Activision, Microsoft and EA

I don't see why there needs to be TF3, just tweak and update TF2, so much has been put into it already. Although I worry that all the updates are creating an insta-kill environment which is what the original release was pretty much designed not to be. Oh and tighten up your net-code Valve, each TF2 update makes the game just a little bit more laggy.

@Sedeolnedus: Really? You're going to play that card?

Don't blame Valve for that. Blame Microsoft. Oh wait, if you blame Microsoft you have to acknowledge that the company has you by the balls for your choice of platform.

@Sedeolnedus

it would be stupid blame Valve for not updating the 360 version, you see, every update on the PC it's FREE. Microsoft want you to pay for every one of that updates and That's Why Vale haven't release any update pack (except for a patch to fix some connection problems).

This summer (here on the other side of the planet) i've become an addict to team fortress 2, and I love how Valve really care about what they customers think and want, and that's why they are the only company that deserves my money <3

if its not broken dont fix it with a new tf. Tf2 can hold its own ground against I think every other multiplayer game. With left4dead they needed to put another new game since they couldt build on the original.
Tf2 is not broken, so dont fix it.

Seriously, I would gladly pay for the DLC if Valve would just update the 360 version. I don't give a fuck. Just bring it up to snuff with the PC version.
