Would you like your mobile phone to run Steam? According to Valve, quite a few people would. Certainly enough for the company to consider bringing its digital service to mobile devices.
"We do feel we're late on mobile across many of Valve's services," confessed Doug Lombardi in MCV. "It is something we're starting to look at now. People are starting to ask us for it. The more requests we receive, the more we feel the need to act on them."
Business and legal affairs director Jason Holtman echoed the sentiments: "Mobile is really interesting. If you're making games, you have to be thinking about having a platform in this space. But it's too early to say anything definitive."
I like both Steam and mobile gaming, so I'd be very interested to see what Valve could do here. Add my name to the list of people who want to see this happen.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
It will never happen, so for now, I'm glad they're considering mobiles. Sounds like a good idea.
I've been waiting for Steam to branch to more than Mac.

YES! and it's Hhhnnngg.
I'd love to see valve games on the droid or ngp or psp. Sounds like good mobile gaming to me.

Honestly, I don't care, as long as the quality of Steam currently doesn't suffer.
I want an AR Portal gun now.
Seriously, wtf is up with Dtoid servers?
That isn't to say that they won't be supporting iOS or Android or WP7 but, knowing 'Valve time', it probably won't be any time soon. (where's my goddamned Linux client already?)
I always wanted to play Team Fortress 2 on the go, and Steam is a pretty awesome service, so it would be fantastic.
I'm on my Android, that may be the issue.
:E
Android Market is struggling like hell. Maybe the quality level would raise a little because right now. Ugh...
On the other hand. We will probably never see Steam on iOS. Apple wouldn't like that when they lose some control over their apps.
@Swishiee: According to the sales (leaked info says 674.000 worldwide!!) you're one of...not many. :)
We have a WP7 at our company and oh boy, does this thing looks old compared to iOS and Android. UI is great, but that's it.
