This'll take me way back, can't wait.
I wouldn't get too excited for the XBL/PSN ones. Anyone remember how awful Condition Zero was on the original Xbox? Consoles (and pads) do movement well, that's why some Unreal Tournament pros use pads over keyboards and mice. Counter-Strike is not a movement-heavy shooter, it's about precision aiming on reflex and leading shots well ahead of time, often just sitting still for several minutes on end. Not to mention the recoil. It's a strict mouse + keyboard game, unless they totally butcher the gameplay (and hey, I love me some pad shooters).
But PC release, hells yeah.
Anyways, never got into Counter Strike but I'll definitely give this a go. I hope the PSN version has the same Steam functionality as Portal 2. If not I'll get the pc/steam version.
I got no issue with mods but I'd hope they'd give if a L4D2 type treatment across the board if they add new stuff down the road.
I can tell you flat out that that won't happen.
Microsoft doesn't like cross platform play unless it entails GFWL, Sony and Microsoft hate each other too much to make that possible, and PC players flat out don't want to play console players.
At best, you might see PS3/PC crossplatform play, but I can bet that a lot of the servers will be PC exclusive.
@garethxxgod
The PC and Mac version will for sure be equal, the PS3 version might be as good as the PC/Mac version, but the Xbox version won't due to the lack of Steamworks.
I've been wondering when Valve would announce a Counter Strike for consoles, it makes so much sense and yet they never seemed to care. Seeing as how Condition Zero on the original Xbox was actually pretty good (if you're not a PC elitist), I'm excited for this.
I dumped plenty of hours into CZ back in the day, can't wait for this too. I only wish it were a retail title, but I guess in the age of CoD and Battlefield no one would pay 60 bucks for CS. Shame, I'd like to have it on my shelf and get some decent achievements from it.

Man, I'm no PC elitist, and I remember CZ being awful. Maybe I missed something?
Should be exciting either way, I've never been into PC gaming so it's nice to at least have the chance now.
I'm a fan of 1.6 and 1.5 the mostly and CS:S didn't hold my attention. I trust Valve but I just hope they keep what makes CS, CS. If it's like 1.6 they got me on board, if it's like CS:S but tweaked a bit, I'll give it a shot.
