Looks like I'm going to be signing yet another petition. Fun... What is with the lack of localization lately?
hopefully at some point it will make it here, releasing the extra edition would certainly be nice, but to be truthful I still have VC2 to get through...

i remember when i reluctanly bought the first one for $20 bucks realized it was the best $20 bucks a spent, then the second one came out and i was like PSP EWWWW and never bought it unitl like a month ago when i went on vacation again best $20 i ever spent, when/if this game comes out here i know i will pre-order the shit outta this game cuz yeah its gonna be amazing
Out of all those recent games not get Localized this one hurts the most. The original was one of the best games I ever played, and this game has the potential to be just as good, even possibly better (which is not an easy feat). I really really want this to get localized like really really bad. If worse comes to worse I'll import it, but seeing as I don't understand kanji I would miss out on the story, and half the fun of the game is getting an emotional attachment to your squad and doing everything to prevent casualties.
My hope is that for some struck of luck sega puts valkyria 2 and 3 together in hd like some games are doing on the ps3, like what Hyperfludd said. It's the only way I'll be playing them.

I didn't buy VC2 but please don't blame gamers like me (our lack of business) for the lack of a localization date. The watercolor graphics of the original game were so integral to the charm I just couldn't downgrade to plainer graphics of the PSP. The entire premise of the second game seemed like a downgrade too.
I already got fucked in the ass by supporting Final Fantasy Tactics Advance titles and never getting a proper hardcore sequel on home consoles. I'm not going to make the same fucking mistake with Valkeria Chronicles. I'll buy it when it comes back to where it belongs: the home consoles.

Still sore that I would have had to blow money on a pointless PSP just to play the sequels. Glad I didn't but still trying to get to a parallel universe where the series stayed on the PS3.
If you guys want to try and get this game to the states remember to check out https://www.facebook.com/GLFront and try to do something about it. Also, never hurts to write Sega and tell them you want this state side. Plus, to all the people that think these games should be on the PS3 make some noise to the company. Sitting in the dark corner of the basement loathing a non-PS3 release will get you no where. Let the people that can make things happen know your discontent.
You know, it's the cool thing to blame piracy and everything, but the truth is that Valkyria Chronicles 2 just wasn't a good game. That's why it didn't sell so well overseas.
The upgrade your classes system was god damn awful ("AMG I NEED ONE DIPLOMA ON THAT ONE CHARACTER AND HE REFUSES TO GET ONE YET MY WHOLE TEAM THAT PERFORMED WORSE GETS 4 AFTER THE BATTLE"), the voice acting was annoying, it was ridiculously easy and the story and characters were just AWFUl.
It is like a compilation of high-school anime crap that you know, words better to Japanese teenagers.
The public that did enjoy the first game (myself included) are not into that kind of anime trash. And I say THAT kind of anime trash, as I do enjoy some anime, but not your usual teenage boy screams and runs around like a fool yet beats everything.
War is serious business, as the first game tried to portrait.
I'm currently played this third game and I know for sure that THIS one would have sucess in the west. It has a compelling story, interesting, non-cliche'd characters, a much improvment combat system...What is annoying is that it uses most maps and models and music from VC2, but whatever.
Any kind of market research would show that they should never, ever have localized Valkyria Chronicles 2, and instead, should localize the 3rd. Consumers are not always the ones to blame, you know.
