Making Valkyria Chronicles portable could seem like a step down to some, but the PSP is always on my person, and I'd love to think that I could have something even fractionally as amazing as Valkyria Chronicles was in the system, to play on-the-go. I wasn't going in expecting the game to look anything like the lush, watercolored PS3 title, but I think these new videos of VC2's game play look pretty good.

Two new videos from the lovely Japanese website for the game show the Scout and Assault Infantry on the move. As you can see, the painted look doesn't carry over as well. To be fair, this is web video. What's important is that the game play translates, and from the looks of it, all that we need to enjoy a sequel is there. I can't wait to get my hands on this.

From the looks of the page, there will be other videos unlocked soon. We'll keep you posted.

They seem to have replaced the sketch lines with film grain, but I think it works out. Also, I like the branching class tree idea.

That looked okay. I was afraid they were going to destroy the unique art style in order to get it onto the PSP, but the graphics were respectable. This is obviously a must-buy title, and hopefully it is a big enough financial success for another console iteration to be made.

Why aren't the videos embedded with the articles anymore? It's annoying having to switch to a different page just to see the video, then switch back to comment.

Is it just me, or does the Valkyrur sound a lot like a 2 year old cooing?

I wish Sony would release some sort of PSP Player, like the Gameboy Player for the Cube. I downright loathe playing games on tiny screens on the go.

And yet I'd ALMOST buy a PSP just for this game. Almost.

Haven't touched my PSP since I got tired of the last Yu-Gi-Oh game that came out without motorcycles. This will def get me to pick it up. Looks great.

@The Trout you can buy a component AV cable to hook the PSP up to a tv or monitor

It's looking pretty good, I am definitely going to pick this one up. Although, and I could be wrong it looks like they are falling back on some anime stock characters from the picture I see there, more so than they did in the original. That doesn't bother me because I am an anime fan, but it just seems like it is going that way.

@finalbloodfest: Holy crud, I had no idea. I might just get a PSP as a console then! Can external controllers be plugged into it?

I really don't like the annoying character design (and that awful voice in the video), but at least the 3D graphics in the PSP sequel are reasonably faithful to the original PS3 game...

Seriously.. what was so wrong with embedding videos in the original post?

@gore on the floor,

I believe it's an internet blogging trick that forces an additional page view in order to view an interesting video. (As opposed to ONE page view allowing you to see 10 videos.)

It may SEEM annoying, but honestly, if I have to make an additional click to view a video on one of my favorite sites, so be it. Plus, if I'm right, it helps out with ad revenue and such.

I want to disagree with you, but every time I try to formulate an argument, I just sound like a lazy dick.

The first screens I seen on this I thought looked hideous, but this video has changed my mind completely. I am playing the ps3 game currently and I am at the end of the game. It still has some of the luster the ps3 game has, but obviously "watered down". But you know that is ok, I am so stoked I can't wait for this to come out it will be a must have in anyone and everyone's psp collection.
