I'm not sure why this week is zombie week, but as long as it has nothing to do with an impending outbreak of some incurable disease, I don't really care. Anyway, if you've ever wanted to make dead the undead but also wanted to better your WPM at the same time, now's your chance. Sega has unveiled Typing of the Dead 2 for the PC. If you missed out on the original, and let's face it, you did, this will be the perfect opportunity to ... okay, seriously, it's a game where you kill zombies by typing words. What more needs to be said?

Dang, it's HotD3, not 2. I was going to make a "don't come!" joke...

The original was rad, I have it along with the keyboard for the Dreamcast. Best typing game ever. I'm a bit disappointed that they don't have the DC backpacks and keyboards as their weapons though.

I have the first one on DC as well. I hope they have the crazy ass phrases in this one like the 1st one did. I remember one of them was along the lines of:

"Whales are the Enemy!"

Or some shit like that. Good stuff.

So is it going to be based on House of the Dead III or what?

They need to be wearing the keyboards!!! The first game was definitely one of the best games in its genre.

Since the Dreamcast version was announced, I always considered this to be one of the most bizarre concepts for a video game ever.

Typing of the Dead II, huh? Should be interesting...

I'd probably kick ass at it. Can type between 53 and 72 WPM...

No way we missed out on Typing of the Dead 1. Either Niero or Fronz made us play it awhile back.

Oh....you're KIDDING.

..and it's based on HotD3?!

I still play the original every now and then on DC AND PC.

I swear, if there's an online mode like the first one, it's on.

Oh it is ON. Who's with me?

Typing of the Dead II has just been put on my "most wanted" list, along with BioShock, Assassin's Creed, Mass Effect, Metroid Prime 3, GTA4, Ratchet and Clank Future, Left 4 Dead, The Darkness, etc.

At least ToTD is educational.

-> Blindside: No, most of the time you're typing out actual words, which is a lot easier. For a sample of what it's like, play Ys typing tutor. It's freeware and fun.
