Use your Wii to download DS demos, hopefully not a Japan-only feature photo

As the we comb through the news coming out of the Fall 2007 Nintendo Conference in Japan, we seem to hearing about more goodies as the day goes on, and the latest bit we've found brings some details of an upcoming DS demo download service for the Wii.

Nintendo president Satoru Iwata announced that the Japanese will soon have the ability to grab DS game demos from their Nintendo Wii. Before this, DS owners would have to seek out a DS download station to get demos, and those demos would disappear after the system was shut down. Now they'll be able to get countless demos from the comfort of their own homes, not having to worry about the power-down deletion anymore.

We're not sure if this feature is Japan-only or not. Hopefully Nintendo can help us move closer to our dream of never leaving the house again.

I've never used the demo stations before... but if I can do this at home I might check it out.

I hope they put real somewhat fleshed out demos on and not the shitty 2 minutes ones i usually find at download stations. And maybe an adventure game for once and not gimmick games like elite beat agent or puzzle games like meteos.

This is a great feature, some DS games already offer the ability to send a demo to another DS but of course for that to work someone has to already have bought the game.
Hopefully there will be a Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword demo, I'd like to try that before I spend the money.

This is way cool, but what about Wii game demos? Seems like that would go hand in hand with this announcement... Come on Nintendo!

Wii game demo's would take up a bit of memory. Wii needs more memory... as for this DS download station thing... they'll have to bring it to the US, it'd be dumb not to.

Why not, you know, have demos for the Virtual Console too?

This would be really nice though, because seeking out those stations in the wild is tough. Should you bring your portable on the go? I say no!

Kidding aside, this could be really nice - as long as we get some demo action in the US as well.

Japan only starting in November until they pull out the US version.

This would be awesome. I always wanted to try out the DS demo stations. However the only one I know of is, shall we say, not particularly trustworthy. I wouldn't want to advertise to everyone about my DS around those parts.

Elite beat agents a gimmick game......? GTFO!

Anyway cool feature, took them long enough to get it sorted and yes VC demos would be nice and Wiiware demo's are a must!

OR, you could get a R4 or similar card and download the demos, and have them for eternity!

Finally. This better come to the US.

Also...we need a hard drive. Now.

YES PLEASE

Then give us a hard drive, games that aren't mini-game collections, online that works, and a PBJ sammich.
