Nowadays, ads for videogames aren't really fun. Sony's latest ad attack on TV is pretty good, but the rest of what's out there is just so serious.

Enter Capcom with their ad for Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom. The promo features Mega Man, Ryu and two Tatsunoko characters battling it out, Robot Chicken style. The ad is pretty great and feels like an old school TV ad from the early 90's.

So who's with me when I say that 90's gaming ads > today's gaming ads?

This video made me foam at the mouth. It's good to know that Capcom's trying to get people to buy the game, especially with a commercial like this.

Yeah, that's just what a fun, crossover mash-up fighter on the wii needs:

Blood. :-/

This TV spot takes me back to Saturday mornings of chowing cereal in front of endless cartoons, topping it all off with Saturday anime on Sci Fi. Capcom wins again.

Yes!

Excuse me while I go eat a breakfast of cold pizza and watch cartoons (for reals).

Kind of reminds me of Super Smash Bros. with the action figures coming to life and beating the crap out of each other.

Very nice. :D

That was seriously awesome! Glad to see Capcom actually trying to advertize the game. Hopefully that TV ad will be able to capture some of Smash Bro's audience since the ad is giving me a similar vibe.

Just when I thought this game was going to get shit-all for advertising.

This makes me a little more optimistic about the fate of this game.
Good show, Capcom.

It was short but sweet.

Capcom's covered all of their tracks. Now there is no excuse for this game to be a flop.

Fellow Wii owners, don't make me haunt you in your dreams. You guys wanted this game released outside of Japan so support it.

I'll be picking up Tatsunoko vs. Capcom along with NMH: Desperate Struggle on day one.

Actually I think they said that it doesn't start airing until Monday, but either way, I guess Capcom should get some applause for marketing one of their Wii game. It should be a no brainer, but it doesn't happen very often, so its just cool to see it actually happening for a change. Hopefully it equates to good sales!

Capcom really knows how to kick my ass these days. Awesome. Good thing me and my bro picked a Wii as our first system, because that's an instant buy.

Wonder if there are any cool preorder bonuses I can take advantage of...

@ GEKKO-Fox- I believe you get a free pack of TvC trading cards with a pre-order.

I'll tell you right now, I'll trade you two Ryu(s) for a Frank West.

I liked old-school Nintendo magazine spots. Like the Custom Robo ad with the riding mower that had dual chainguns.
