Unreal Tournament III PS3 patch goes live, Steam sale extended photo

First, the good news: the PlayStation 3 version of the massive Unreal Tournament III "Titan Pack" DLC has gone up ahead of schedule. It was recently delayed until a March 19 release, but it looks as if certification didn't take as long as expected.

Unfortunately, the patch is missing some of the original content. CVG reports that the Titan Mutator and maps are not included, but will be released via a second patch in the near future. We've also received word that some of you are having issues with being kicked off of the PlayStation Network, but there's no telling how widespread the problem is yet.

Additionally, last week's UTIII Steam promotion was a smashing success, which means that the 40% off Unreal Tournament III Black sale is going to continue through Sunday, March 22. Also, an encore Free Weekend of play is starting up this Friday.

A word of warning: do not expect Steam downloads to be running at full speed with so many people hitting the servers at once. Set your expectations accordingly, please.

The Ut3 patch for the PS3 is dandy. I've been playing it with a few dtoiders since yesterday and have not had any issues whatsoever. I believe that "issues" is Brainderailment exclusive. As for the Titan pack, Epic said in their forums that was coming for the PS3 on March 19th.

PS3 owners should scoop this patch up considering that it adds trophy support as well as an added two player split screen mode. Sweet stuff.

Even if the servers are getting battered I'm still getting a solid 1.1 MB/s which is basically the limit they set in our dorm rooms.

If I take it down to a lab I get around 8-10 MB/s, which is nice when I want to re-download my steam folder.

The PS3 patch is for the trophies and split screen. The Titan Pack is going to be available for free on the PlayStation Store on March 19th as a downloadable add-on pack.

40 percent off?! I guess I shouldn't have bought the game so early.

I'm really getting in to instagib again. Warfare mode still blows chunks and Assault Mode needs a comeback though.

I wish the problem I have wasn't exclusive to me so it'd get fixed. I deleted everything related to this game mutliple times and I still can't play this game unless my internet is disabled. The game is so messed up for me that it makes the launch of Socom look like the ideal situation developers want for their game.

I had noticed I got booted from PSN after playing UT3 on friday. It wouldn't connect claiming a DNS error (despite my Laptops working fine). It's nice of Epic to let us know they still care about 2/3rds of their demographic, but did they have to break my connection to do it?

What? Now they have split the patch into three patches?
But early is always nice.
