Unreal Tournament 3 system requirements have arrived photo

I’m going to go out on a limb here and assume that most of you would prefer playing Unreal Tournament 3 on a PC rather than a console. Even if that isn’t the case, you’ll still have to get the PC version if you want to play the game this year.

So, do yourself a favor and make sure that your rig is in the clear by checking out the hardware requirements now, rather than the night before UT3 hits retail. Trust me, buying PC components at the last minute is not something that you or your savings account will want to go through.

Minimum System Requirements
• Windows XP SP2 or Windows Vista
• 2.0+ GHZ Single Core Processor
• 512 Mbytes of System RAM
• NVIDIA 6200+ or ATI Radeon 9600+ Video Card
• 8 GB of Free Hard Drive Space

Recommended System Requirements
• 2.4+ GHZ Dual Core Processor
• 1 GBytes of System RAM
• NVIDIA 7800GTX+ or ATI x1300+ Video Card
• 8 GB of Free Hard Drive Space

Tell us, does your PC stand the test of time or are you in dire need of an upgrade?

Wohoooooo It'll run on my spec :) I'm amazed... :)

Here's the only system spec that matters to me: PS3

Btw, if it really requires SP2, that forces Windows Genuine Validation...

Thats really not very demanding. I barely meet the video card requirement, but my 9600 is 4 years old. (and it came with half-life 2)

Whether I have dire need of an upgrade largely depends on what "Recommended specs" means. I have more than the recommend specs, slightly. WIll I get perfectly smooth gameplay at high settings or will I have to upgrade anyway?

Another BLAME! fan, wooo someone else who likes one of my favourite cyberpunk mangas of all time!

It will run on my computer. But perhaps not on my completely f*cked hard drive, which for some reason starts stuttering on very high end game (I don't have a f*cking clue). Once I get a new 10,000 rpm hd it'll run fine (although i swear this shuttle barebones is by far the worst case I've ever bought, everything has gone wrong, the case is now held together by sellotape to stop it rattling!). Can't wait for UT3 though, played UT2k4 to death (to the extent I memorized the seconds it took for double damage to respawn etc for the best routes in DM ^_^)

I have been awaiting this with fear and hope!

Okay, everything else is fine, but I don't know about my video card...

I've got an ATI Radeon Xpress 1150. Anyone know if it will run it?

Here are my PC specs:

Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 (2.66 GHz)
nVidia 8800 GeForce GTS 320 Mb (by EVGA)
2 Gigs of OCZ Ram (800 MHz)

and the others don't count. It cost about $1100 on Newegg, although I already had a monitor.

The question is, will I be able to tear myself from TF2...

Woo my pc meets the recommended specs (it is only 8 months old)!

AMD Athlon 64 X2 (Dual Core) 5200+(2.60GHz)
2GB Crucial Ballistix RAM
XFX Geforce 8800GTS 640MB
Windows Vista Ultimate

@WDOT
When they say recommended specs all it means that a system with those specs will run the game fine, it can get a little iffy once you max out the settings. But if your setup already exceeds the recommended specs don't bother upgrading for this game.

As for me, this game would destroy my current computer. Lucky for me I'm building a new one, if only the damnable parts would arrive

I can never run this on my computer. I'll play it 4 years from now or on 360 if it ever comes out on it.

Never was much of an Unreal fan. It feels too fast paced. But, all the vehicles and huge maps were awesome.

w00t! The specs aren't as demanding as i expected. i'm a little antsy about the processor, but i think i should be fine.

3500+ A64 (2.2 ghz)
2GB DDR
ATi X1950XTX 512MB

BioShock ran wonderfully (around 40-50 fps) maxed details no AF nor AA at 1440x900.

I would still like to upgrade my vidcard, but it's ok for now, i'll wait till DX 10.1 cards are out.

I guess it’s a good thing that I have a PS3.

And this is why, if I was interested in the game, I'd be buying for (my non-existent) PS3. I have no interesting in playing catch-up with my components every time a big game comes out.

i don't know if i could run it...the memory and video card on my laptop are okay, but my cpu is lacking.

pentium m 1.73 GHz
2GB DDR2 533 MHz
mobility radeon x700 (PCIe) 128MB

maybe i'll just wait a few years.

What about the keyboard and mouse you can buy for the PS3? It would be kick ass to play UT3 on a 50" monitor.

I too cannot afford to spend $1000 upgrading my PC.

What do you think they mean with recomended requirements.. how much fps is that... multiplayer games like that need a lots of fps to enjoy them..

You guys really shouldn't be surprised at all. Epic has alway, always been good about keeping their game engines very scalable. I played the original UT on a P2-233 with 128MB ram and no 3d Accelerator. I played UT2k3 on a P2-350 with a PCI GeForce2. Not on minimal settings, either. I could play with most things on Medium and still get decent, playable, enjoyable fps.

I had no doubts that Epic would deliver.

I'm also glad that they always pump out a Mac and Linux version too.

i have an overclocked athlon 64 x2 3800+ (2.5 ghertz from 2.0 gherz) 2 gigs of ram, and a geforce 8600 gt oc'ed to gts speed, i think i can handle this game.

@cnote81

I can only think of the Shader 2.0 being supported by Crysis. Bioshock requires 3.0 compatible cards, a version X800 isn't equipped to deal with.

I just upgraded, a64x2 5200, 8600 gt oc, 2gigs of ram.

However, my old gaming rig that was 3 years old still far better then the minimum requirements.
