I’m going to go out on a limb here and assume that most of you would prefer playing Unreal Tournament 3 on a PC rather than a console. Even if that isn’t the case, you’ll still have to get the PC version if you want to play the game this year.
So, do yourself a favor and make sure that your rig is in the clear by checking out the hardware requirements now, rather than the night before UT3 hits retail. Trust me, buying PC components at the last minute is not something that you or your savings account will want to go through.
Minimum System Requirements
• Windows XP SP2 or Windows Vista
• 2.0+ GHZ Single Core Processor
• 512 Mbytes of System RAM
• NVIDIA 6200+ or ATI Radeon 9600+ Video Card
• 8 GB of Free Hard Drive Space
Recommended System Requirements
• 2.4+ GHZ Dual Core Processor
• 1 GBytes of System RAM
• NVIDIA 7800GTX+ or ATI x1300+ Video Card
• 8 GB of Free Hard Drive Space
Tell us, does your PC stand the test of time or are you in dire need of an upgrade?

"bitches love sandcastles" ... yet, there is no sandcastle in that photo. We may never truly understand his ways.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Btw, if it really requires SP2, that forces Windows Genuine Validation...
i mean my pc barely runs warcraft 3 smoothly
Another BLAME! fan, wooo someone else who likes one of my favourite cyberpunk mangas of all time!
It will run on my computer. But perhaps not on my completely f*cked hard drive, which for some reason starts stuttering on very high end game (I don't have a f*cking clue). Once I get a new 10,000 rpm hd it'll run fine (although i swear this shuttle barebones is by far the worst case I've ever bought, everything has gone wrong, the case is now held together by sellotape to stop it rattling!). Can't wait for UT3 though, played UT2k4 to death (to the extent I memorized the seconds it took for double damage to respawn etc for the best routes in DM ^_^)
Okay, everything else is fine, but I don't know about my video card...
I've got an ATI Radeon Xpress 1150. Anyone know if it will run it?
Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 (2.66 GHz)
nVidia 8800 GeForce GTS 320 Mb (by EVGA)
2 Gigs of OCZ Ram (800 MHz)
and the others don't count. It cost about $1100 on Newegg, although I already had a monitor.
The question is, will I be able to tear myself from TF2...
AMD Athlon 64 X2 (Dual Core) 5200+(2.60GHz)
2GB Crucial Ballistix RAM
XFX Geforce 8800GTS 640MB
Windows Vista Ultimate
When they say recommended specs all it means that a system with those specs will run the game fine, it can get a little iffy once you max out the settings. But if your setup already exceeds the recommended specs don't bother upgrading for this game.
As for me, this game would destroy my current computer. Lucky for me I'm building a new one, if only the damnable parts would arrive
Never was much of an Unreal fan. It feels too fast paced. But, all the vehicles and huge maps were awesome.
3500+ A64 (2.2 ghz)
2GB DDR
ATi X1950XTX 512MB
BioShock ran wonderfully (around 40-50 fps) maxed details no AF nor AA at 1440x900.
I would still like to upgrade my vidcard, but it's ok for now, i'll wait till DX 10.1 cards are out.
I guess it’s a good thing that I have a PS3.
pentium m 1.73 GHz
2GB DDR2 533 MHz
mobility radeon x700 (PCIe) 128MB
maybe i'll just wait a few years.
I too cannot afford to spend $1000 upgrading my PC.
I had no doubts that Epic would deliver.
I'm also glad that they always pump out a Mac and Linux version too.
I can only think of the Shader 2.0 being supported by Crysis. Bioshock requires 3.0 compatible cards, a version X800 isn't equipped to deal with.
However, my old gaming rig that was 3 years old still far better then the minimum requirements.
PC's FTW!!!
4GB RAM
8800 Ultra
I think I'll be okay.
4GB RAM
7950GX2 (1GB of videocard sexiness)
2x 500GB hdd's
Yeah... I think I can manage it.
