Unreal Tournament 3 goes free for the weekend photo

Steam and Epic Games are throwing another one of those Unreal Tournament 3 free weekends, and even though it isn't the weekend just yet, UT3 is now free to play until Sunday.

If you like what you play, the game has also been temporarily dropped down to eight bucks. Or if you're more into the older iterations of Unreal Tournament, the original game can be bought for $1.99. Seriously! It may not be as delicious as a five-dollar foot-long, but who cares -- it's still a great deal.

And lastly, the entire line-up of Unreal games is 60% off on Steam until the 27th of this month. That's five games for $16. I'd make another food comparison but instead I'm going to shut up and grab a bite to eat before I starve any further.

I have the DVD collection, but I might jump on this for Steam versions.

I wonder if you can gift a duplicate UT3, as I already have a Steam copy. Probably not, unfortunately.

UT3 itself is kind of meh, I think everyone knows that, but I would still get it for the mods if you haven't already.

Great deal, but how much would I actually play these games? Hmm...

I remember when me and fellow dtoiders used to play this game on PS3 FNF.
And by play I mean serve as moving targets to MrSadistic and sadie_G

Hey, it's the awesome franchise Epic gave up on, for Gears of War. I bought this used for my 360 the other month for like 16 bucks. It's a travesty about the lack of any mod or map support on the 360.

RIP UT Franchise. I will miss your FUN CTF modes.

this game was not to bad, but it did lack any unlockable content.

not that +6 unlockable charaters is cool, but i am use to playing Timesplitters 3 where there are 250 unlockable charaters and 40 unlockable maps.

and the story mode sort of....sucked cause it was nothing but a multiplayer warmup.

UT3 is great, sort of a shame how it old school deathmatch shooters have faded in popularity, I miss them. But I think as far as online play goes, most UT fans would prefer UT 2004 over UT3. UT3s onslaught spin off mode doesn't feel near as tight and polished as UT2004 does. Over all through all the patches towards the end from when I played it until about 07, UT2004 was amazingly polished and balanced.

I pretty much stopped upgrading my PC the day after Doom 3 came out so playing this game through steam is pretty much pointless for me. BUMMER

Does anyone even play this online? I entered a few games, and got really excited at how much I was dominating the games. My scores ended up around 50 or so, while the next leading person would be around 20-something. Then I noticed the names of everyone matched the names of the character models and realized I was going against bots.

General Steam question
Can you still get all the DLC, expansions and what not with the steam version of the games? i wasn't never sure about that since i usually only got signle player games off of steam...

What about user made content, can you still exploit that on steam version of games that allow such, or do you need to get the CD version?

I tried this out on the last free weekend. It's a fun game but it's also got to be the most disturbing game I've ever played.

The first level of the campaign has you blowing your own sister up into a bloody mess while saying stuff like "That felt goood!". Apparently it's OK to do that since she respawns, back for more.

I just find it funny that other games get a hard time from watchdog groups for lesser stuff while this goes over looked. Oh right, you have to actually play the game to know about it.
