Unnamed developer points to DS/DSi compatibility issues photo

When we first heard of Nintendo's DSi, the word was that all DS games were fully compatible with the DSi, save for those that use the GBA slot. One developer begs to differ, as they're having a bit of an issue with the new console.

This developer told PocketGamer that it is having trouble making their new  game compatible with the DSi hardware. Rumor has it that games are hitting hurdles in the certification process due to these issues.

It's hard for us to believe that Nintendo would release this new console without double checking for backwards compatibility with current DS titles. Let's just hope that this developer has come across some bug. If there really was something to titles working on the DS and not in the DSi, Nintendo could have some real trouble on their hands when the console launches in Japan in two days.

Funky compatibility would be an absolute deal breaker for me, especially considering that I've been holding off on a Lite for the DSi.

Maybe it's cause the developer was trying it with an R4

And that's why I'm buying a Lite instead of a DSi

Wonder if nintendo will be doing the firmware update thing with this DSi like Sony does with the PSP.

Brainderailment has the right idea as I don't image they would release something without covering all the bases.....woudl they?

Is that dot next to the hinge camera the microphone? If it is, it's pain they haven't moved it back to the bottom... it's annoying there (and makes it near impossible to use in WarioWare)!

I think I've found one in the wild.
Metroid Prime: Hunters, repeatedly freezes and crashes on while running on a DSi.

One of the best and most polished games in the DS library, Nintendo, quality control please.
