Uncharted Trophies are out

The long-awaited patch for Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune that will add Trophy support has finally arrived. Unfortunately for the rest of the world, it’s only out in Europe right now. According to PSBeyond, the patch is a massive 13MB and has a total of 65 Trophies to collect.

Unfortunately, Naughty Dog has yet to comment on the creation of a patch that would make players forget about the travesty in storyline towards the end of the game. Regardless, it looks as though the patch is well on its way to a stateside experience, so we should all have a reason to revisit this title fairly soon. All of the Trophies that can be collected are not retroactive, so you will have to play through the game in its entirety to collect all of them.

Some of the highlights of the Trophies that can be earned deal with gun-specific kills, collecting treasures, and staying alive for extended periods of time. Hit the break for the full rundown of the Trophies.

How long would it take to beat the game four times (once on each difficulty level)? Seems a little bit excessive.

I beat it on the 3 hardest levels, do I have to do it all again to get the trophies? I guess I have to fire up one of my favorite games again!

@hpv: You got both Medals (easy and medium) for clearing it on medium. So I hope, this will be the same for trophies.

Yes, hopefully it'll give you the trophies for each difficulty below the one you're on...

Also how would I go about downloading this? Just log onto my Euro account, and pop the game in or...?

@Rockefellow:

I doubt it'll work like that, if you're based outside the EU. Your IP address isn't EU and so I don't think the game will let you download the update. Worth a shot, as always though.

Wonder if, since most of those were part of the "unlocking" thing within the game that you wouldn't have to go through to get them again...

Guess I have to bust it out again!

You know, I have to say unless someone shows us that at least *some* Trophies can be retroactively patched, this feature is going to be more harm than help for the platform.

@namtastic:

Don't be an idiot. Firstly, Burnout Paradise will be retroactive. (Save game tied to your PSN ID) Secondly, making them all retroactive would only be available if more developers did the above (which they didn't, because they weren't aware of, or didn't care about, the trophies system) or trophies were read from save files, which would ruin the idea because people would simply copy save files to their PS3 and get free trophies.

As long as the majority of new releases in the future have trophies already attached to them it's fine. It's not as if some people currently have an unfair advantage or anything. (even if they did, if you really care that much you suck, I play games for fun, not epeen!)

@namtastic: some games with multiplayer features that are tied to your PSN ID will be retroactive. As far as offline games, that would just negate trophies altogether.

Just to be clear, the Trophies are exactly what were already implemented in the game beforehand, right? They look extremely familiar. Also, since I've already gotten most of those, would I just boot up Uncharted and be awarded a bunch of Trophies?

Fail. Not having Retro Trophies is total fail.

I understand everyones point about stopping cheaters, but there are simple steps around that to prevent people from downloading saves and getting achievements..

I sure as hell will not be replaying this, Resistance, Rock Band, and cruising through MGS4 with no alerts... again.. I would consider maybe doing one of those again for trophies, but I have a ton of other stuff to play through...

They need to just let everyone get whatever trophies they already should have earned. Trophies are only for E-peen anyhow (but I still wouldn't mind having mine)

I am wondering the same thing but I am too lazy to go grab my copy and boot up as I have a movie to go watch.

@ Dexter & Mix

I'm pretty positive that the Trophies are the same as the Medals. Before I traded the game I looked up the FAQ on how to get all the Medals and I vividly remember getting most of those. Especially the M79 - that one was a p.i.t.a!
