I hope the story is poigant enough to make an impact on the series in general. Either way, this will most likely be better than Uncharted 3 was, and I can't wait to get my hands on it.

my problem with the vita is, it has too many unnecesary control-imputs. a touch screen, a touch pad on the back? wtf? a fucking gyroscope nobody ever uses....still not buying a vita.

The touchscreen functionality seems almost as forced as the SIXAXIS bullshit we had to put up with at the beginning of the PS3's life, but at least it's optional.

Sony Bend is the developer. Even though they're using Naughty Dog's assets, I think they deserve a good deal of credit for how this looks.

It's being developed by Sony Bend, NOT Naughty Dog. Naughty Dog have never strayed from the PS1/PS2/PS3 for their franchises.
Those are the guys that did the Syphon Filter titles, and the Resistance handheld game, so they're more than qualified.

The game is developed by Sony Bend Studio, but it's overseen by Naughty Dog. So Jim's statement has some credence to it.
This looks really impressive, probably the most impressive handheld game I've ever seen, but I'm not sure how I feel about it. I don't know if I trust another developer to make an Uncharted game. Also I feel like they missed a great opportunity here. They could have made a game that starred Sully, Elena, and Chloe or young Drake. These new character don't seem to be too interesting. Which is a shame because the regular Uncharted cast is great to listen to. We already have 2 fantastic Drake love interest in Uncharted games adding a 3rd one seems like overdoing it.
It looks decent, but I'm still not all that impressed. The models/brushes are blocky, and there is no dynamic lighting/shadowing in it from what I can see- notice the fistfight that's entirely fullbright, with no shadows cast by the characters whatsoever? I'm not seeing any active physics, either, it all looks pre-programmed and unnatural (the bridge breaking, the jeep). That jeep crash was comically bad, the animation looked like something out of Half-Life 1 - and so did the jeep lol.
Yet some of the other scenes look really beautiful in terms of the foliage, textures, etc. It will be interesting to see the finished product, this is probably just a mock-up done for advertising.
