anyway... what do you care about online passes. you get your games new for reviews anyway. have you ever had to buy a online pass for a used game yet?
me. i dont care a lot about online, so this isnt a big deal for me, plus ill prob get it new anyway. so go buy this used jim and ill give you my online pass. for 5$.
You should sell it, at a discount ^^
The obviously wanted to create a second hand online pass market.
Guys, there's no Bloody Roar 5. You've been trolled. HARD

Meh, tried that with the Resistance 3 pass and found it to be more of a pain in the ass than it was worth. "LOL SCAM BET U ALREADY USED IT LOL" etc etc. Ended up just giving it away. Besides, I could probably use the positive karma.
And I still say online passes can be a good thing for used games. It could bring the price of used games down to a level a little more reflective of a 2nd hand product. Intead of buying your trade for $5(if you're lucky) and selling it for $54, they could sell it for $10. And if used retailers cut a deal to supply online passes they could make money selling those too. Buying used games could be a good deal again.
So, let me see to understand. If I buy the game new and want to play the single player, I will not be affected for this. I can play right away. If I want to go on-line, I must put the code. Off course, if the PSN is off-line for some reason, I can't input the code and play the multiplayer. Except that if the PSN is down for any reason, I can't go on-line even without the code. Hmmmm...
If only. I argued my case to get a better trade-in price on Resistance 3 since my online pass was unused and the retailer wouldn't go for it. I understand their stance... they have no way of knowing if the pass is valid or not without activating it themselves, which of course then makes it unusable to anyone else. Still sucks though.
Instead of penalizing used buyers and renters with these stupid codes, why not reward new buyers better instead.
For example, include a $10 PSN card with any new copy or make the first DLC free for new buyers.
This way more people would have incentive to buy a game new,and used buyers and renters wouldn't get shafted.

Oh, you can count on it. May as well go ahead and whip it out and do your business now, because I'm sure that online pass was part of their motivation for adding any sort of MP in the first place.
dont blame sony/MS or whom ever. blame the bros who play nothing BUT online games.
None of these games that added multiplayer to their games later have ever had a decent one anyway.

@fr33k: developers (naughty dog in this case) already got paid for their work. Online pass money goes straight to publisher (Sony)
This is what's happening with BF2: Bad Company soon.
Welcome to the current generation of gaming where the people who support this practice of online passes check their rights as a gamer in at the door.
I was semi-interested in Uncharted 3 and the Uncharted dual pack, I'll pass on both now because what limited experience I've had with them gave me a lower-quality single-player experience in games like Mass Effect 2 and Dragon Age.
The "incetivized" content was pure shit.
I guess its a good thing that while I'm a PS3 owner, I have very little interest in Sony as a first party outside of Team Ico.
Huh. I just looked, and what do you know? It said exactly the same thing the DToid article. Funny.
From said source article:
North America: 1. The ICO & Shadow of the Colossus Collection (SCEA, PS3), 2. Gears of War 3 (Microsoft, X360), 3. FIFA Soccer 12 (EA Sports, PS3), 4. God of War: Origins Collection (SCEA, PS3), 5. FIFA Soccer 12 (EA Sports, X360).
The multiplayer is excellent in U2 btw, its one of the best things I never would have thought I wanted in any Uncharted game, and I can't wait to try it in the new one. Make no mistake, it was not a slapdash addition to add another bullet point.
Like who buys used anymore when prices of vidja games drop so quickly compared to before? Plus buying used the game cases and discs are always dirty and scratched. GROSS. I say support the developers and not some assmunchers trying to make profit off someone elses product.
Uncharted won't be hurting for sales but everyone knows that if your game does not do well enough, your studio can be shutdown. The revenue brought in by the game determines your value to the publisher.
