I thought that installing the game would make it run faster or at least load stuff faster. I guess they solved that issue already then.

In defense of MGS4, I felt that you couldn't really appreciate the "Old Snake Smoking a Cig" install screen until you saw it at least for the fourth time.

I hope there's an optional install though, I like my games at peak optimization. Plus the install lets me go make a sandwich or something, since I OBVIOUSLY wont have time to do something silly like eat while playing Uncharted.

I'm okay with optional installs. Not knowing why the installs were necessary, I looked it up some time ago, and frankly, if there's an install, I shrug my shoulders and do it anyway. The Blu Ray disc you put into your game system isn't anything more than a content delivery device, similar to a CD/DVD used in a normal game install.

Frankly, if you look at the read speed for a Blu Ray drive, it's going to be a lot slower than the 360 on a lot of things just because the difference in media prohibits proper speed comparisons. So, to deal with it, the game installs. Let them install. Doesn't hurt me.

And speaking of drive space. If you're still struggling over drive space, buy a new drive and upgrade. There's no room to bitch. You can get a 160GB drive for $50 online. UPGRAYEDD already. The only thing you stand to lose is room to complain about lack of space.

I'm at 75% on a 320GB drive. I wish I had more.

I'm in favour of HDD installs (coming from a PC game background, I almost demand it), but Uncharted is still one of the best looking games this generation on any platform (yes even PCs), without needing installation, and has no loading screens past the main screen.

Thank god. There have been so many times i've started a game only to sit through the start of a twenty minute install, switch over to 360 to play an arcade game to pass the time and then say fuck it and never go back to the PS3 because i can't be arsed.

I'm fine with installs if they improve loading times etc.. but why does a system with the 'amazing cell processors' take longer to install games than my PC that doesn't even have one measly 'amazing cell processor'?

Installs can fuck off until they give me a galaga game to play in the meantime like Ridge Racer.

Also, while we're at it. If i load my fucking game i don't need a fucking prompt telling me that the game has loaded and i need to push O. Just load the game and get on with it!

Killzone 2 didn't require installation.

But that stalled at checkpoints which could have been avoided via installation...lets hope Uncharted is not the same

who cares about installs to harddrive? if it helps w/load times yay.

its not like i can't wait another 15minutes or however long the install may take.

geez, its like people saying that their not getting their email fast enough; 'wait. its over 30 seconds since they sent it; i should have had it 15 seconds ago.' i remember when it took me over an hour to download a 3mb mp3. oh knows, i've dated myself. haha

and like @Bluedesign said, upgrade your harddrive. i have a 500gb in mine and love it! over 200 movies on it too.
