Like a lot of gamers anticipating a big Marvel vs. Capcom 3 announcement today, I came away with mixed emotions after Capcom finally let loose details on Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 -- twelve new characters, some new stages, and online options, all for $40. It's not a bad deal or anything, but considering that vanilla Marvel vs. Capcom 3 just came out a few month ago, it does feel a little too soon. At first, I thought I would have been happier if they just threw Nemesis, Phoenix Wright, Strider, and Mega Man, up for sale as DLC for $5 a pair (or if they just included Mega Man at all) and called it a day.
Then I saw this trailer, and I started to become a believer. The Ant-Man cameo immediately made me think of Garret Morris, and I can't say no to Garret Morris. Then there's the live stream going on right now (the one that may or may not be over by the time you read this) that's showing off all sorts of cool new stuff, like Ryu's new Sakura-esque ability to charge regular fireballs (with the option to turn said fireballs invisible) and a bunch of other stuff I didn't see coming. Like Super Street Fighter IV before it, this game may turn out to be more than just a roster update. For now, I remain hopeful.
