The imminent existence of Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 has been the only thing stopping me from picking the original up. It's been a difficult road, but it will pay off soon. The new edition of the game -- with 12 new characters -- will be shown off throughout New York Comic-Con. Sadly I'm stuck in bleak Scotland, but I'm not jealous or anything...
Since we can't all be there, Capcom have put together a wee spotlight for two of the new characters. Both these chaps come from a background in doling out legal justice. Phoenix Wright crushes his enemies under the might of a whimsical, baffling justice system, even throwing the book at Doctor Doom. Nova, like all good cops, uses the powerful Nova Force to subdue his foes, he absorbs energy and then blasts it back all over the place. What a mess.
Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 extends the game with 12 new fighters, 8 new stages and new modes. You'll be able to get your grubby little mitts on it on November 15 in North America and November 18 in Europe on Xbox 360 and PS3. Fight! (in a month.)
Phoenix wright is so lame. I love it. Although one of his specials should be the enemies getting strangled by those weird "psychic locks and chains" that the magatama creates.
As meh as I find UMvC3 to be, I gotta say I was the most excited for Phoenix Wright being in the game. His moves look... a little underwhelming from what I imagined Capcom doing, was hoping he'd be a little like Captain Commando, and call out more of his buddies during battle... Glad to see he finally made it into a fighter after all this time, though still not buying it...
@Phoenix Wright
Well played, Capcom. Once I realised all Phoenix's attacks were basically him reading, I couldn't help but laugh. I wasn't expecting this sort of treatment of him, but I like it.
Nova looks bloody fun. Run at people and punch the crap out of them. Mobility, speed and a real sense of impact mean that if I buy UMvC3 I'll likely enjoy using this dude.
I was a little disappointed with some of Phoenix's moves, until I saw his Level 3 Hyper Combo. That is without a doubt the most awesome attack I have ever seen in any video game.
Also lol @ Capcom trolling us with Megaman's picture. They're so silly!
@worldagainstjose Nope they didn't want to include them in the game and then upset the folks that paid money for them. They have said that people that purchases MvC3 Vanilla will get something they just haven't stated what it is yet.
Plays like I expected him too, and I thought my expectations were quite high. Good job Capcom! I payed for the original and I'll probably be paying for this one too. While I detest Capcom's ways, I buy games that look fun and UMvC3 looks like a ball.
@Remix
Well that sort of thing is difficult in a game that uses 3D models, it takes a lot more work to create the characters. Creating models for characters that are only part of another character is just a hassle.
That super on Doom... it's one of the best things I've seen in my life, although I've seen some funky shit.
I'm with Holmes on this one. I skipped on original MvC3, because I'm poor, but now that I've finally sold my testicule, I'm jumping on that MvC3 booty.
Here is what I will do: I will wait until E3 2012. If by that time they haven't announced Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 Ultra Edition, or something like that, I will consider it. CONSIDER IT...
