Ultimate JRPG fan service: New Cross Edge screens photo

You might remember me telling you almost a year ago that Compile Heart's all-star RPG, Cross Edge would be coming to the PlayStation Thr ... what do you mean you don't remember? I swear, you people don't listen to anything I say, do y ... well, that's okay, because I'm about to remind you. Go back to your seat and stop interrupting.

Featuring characters from the worlds of Capcom, Nippon Ichi, Namco, Idea Factory and Gust, Cross Edge is a massive, writhing orgy of fanservice, in which we cannot yet participate. Now the Korean version is about to hit next week on the 19th, and our Korean friends over at Ruliweb (who no doubt all have incredibly hot sisters) have unleashed a fat batch of fresh screenshots for the rest of us to be jealous of.

You can check out several of them in the gallery below, or head over to Ruliweb for the full set. Hey, Asia, how about sending us a version of this game already? Or at least pictures of your sisters?

[Thanks, Funran!]

Christ, this looks like somebody took a bunch of fanfiction crossovers and made a game out of it.

Speaking of nice things Asians got that dirty western barbarians have not (yet), I'd like to see Demon's Souls announced for NA/PAL release. I mean, the Asian version is already in full English (I'm playing it), why not release it here?

Yeah, it's fun when everybody who's able to fix stuff when it breaks is away for the week. Sorry kids. I guess just follow the Ruli link and check 'em out there.

What about "Namco X Capcom" released on PS2 (Japan only) a few years ago. Topher do you remember this game or not?

Uhm, actually it is coming here..release date is supposed to be May 20th 09, and it is on the PS3

"In an interview with RPGamer, a NIS America rep mentioned that they are indeed planning to bring the PS3 title X Edge to North America. A release date has yet to be finalized, but the rep said that NIS America is currently tracking a March 2009 release.

X Edge (pronounced Cross Edge) is an RPG title that brings together characters from games by Capcom, Nippon Ichi, Namco Bandai, Gust, and Idea Factory."

@Topher, I really don't know. I haven't really seen an RPG get marketed in a long time besides Star Ocean, and another one for the 360. And I've never seen any marketing for NIS titles.

Topher Cantler at 03/12/2009 18:53
That surprises me. I mean, of course they're not going to put up bilboards or anything, but I hadn't heard a word about it. You'd think they would at least give it the same hype they did Prinny.

Oh well, as long as I get to play it. :)

"Massive, writhing orgy of fan service" is about as good of a potential descriptor for this game as I could have thought up.

And I couldn't be happier.

It's too bad that NISA are the shittiest translation company pretty much ever.

And I'm still burning with rage over not getting Namco x Capcom. That shit had ROCKMAN DASH in it. Not cool, Namco and Capcom, definitely not cool.
