UK stores aren't getting copies of Resistance 2: Fail distributor is fail photo

A range of retail outlets across the United Kingdom are having to make do without one of the PlayStation 3's biggest exclusives thanks to distributor Entertainment UK's failure to meet demand in time for Christmas.

Branches of Zavvi, WHSmith and Currys.digital have all been left tapping their toes, waiting for copies of Resistance 2 which launched on Friday, November 28. The only thing that one Zavvi staff member could say about the situation was: "We seem to be having supply problems at the moment."

Yeah, no sh*t, mate.

If you're in the UK and still need a copy, rest assured that stores not supplied by EUK have been able to get their copies in without a hitch. Stores like GAME and HMV are fully stocked, although why you'd want to shop at GAME is beyond my comprehension.

This is a dramatic case of fail on the part of EUK. If you can't meet holiday demand for one of the PS3's biggest and most important new releases, then you should perhaps rethink your position in the entertainment industry.

Erm Jim, you are aware that EUK has recently gone into Administration. You see its apart of Woolworths UK and thats gone bust. I work for Woolworths and weve been told that due to our situation we wont be getting any new stock in- you see the Administrators have to pay for everything now and they want to cut costs as much as they can. I can only imagine this has had similar effects on EUK. So this could go on for a while, We didn't get any L4D last week either...

Its not really a failing, more like a casualty of the credut crunch. I feel for those working at woolworths right now...

Yeah, Woolworths going belly up has wiped out a lot of stock supply. Until those stores who relied on EUK find a new distributor they aren't getting anything.

Also, I like GAME. Might be because the guys in the one I frequent aren't dicks.

Ah i see. I dont actually go in GAME stores but buy all my games online at GAME.co.uk (reward card being main reason). In my experience the online service is superb and you always get games 1-2 days before release date. Pity, it seems, that they cant produce the same level of service instore.
Have you tried Gamestation instead ;-)

Who the hell buys games on the high street?

I usually only get pre-owned from there (so you can at least get a good box out of it), and yesterday bought my first New game in years!
