I've just remembered I don't even shop at GAME, or Gamestation for that matter, and though I'll admit alternatives aren't exactly jumping out at me on the highstreet, I can always save myself some money and shop online

@tremault Actually he's right they are the same company with same warehouses and systems so if game aren't getting it neither are gamestation. I work in game ltd head office in the shipping dep and i cover both game and gamestation.
And with HMV generally on their arses, this pretty much spells the end of UK retail; smaller, more randomly placed independents not withstanding.
I wish I could be sad, but I won't miss them.
Guess I'll just have to use amazon and deal with the always real risk of postal cock ups.

hmm appears I was wrong. even though Game and Gamestation are technically different companies, it seems they must have the same supply lines and ordering systems or something.
although I'm surprised the person I spoke to yesterday had no clue about this.
I kicked up a fair bit of a fuss in the store but of course I understand it's not the staff's fault.
Bought the game from grainger games other side of town without a pre-order. Looks like they will be my new go-to game shop.

I am writing to complain about the game I pre-ordered not being stocked by your stores.
I pre-ordered the last story for Nintendo Wii and when I arrived at the store to purchase it, they informed me that the game was not going to be stocked. I wonder exactly what was the point of me coming to your store and placing a pre-order for this product. it is obvious that you do not keep to your word when a pre-ordered product is not provided. You have clearly demonstrated to me that I cannot rely on your store to provide games for me, especially when I could walk in to Grainger games on the other side of town and they had plenty of copies spare even when I had not pre-ordered with them.
What is the point of pre-ordering a product if you then fail to even order the product? does this mean nothing to you? does your customer mean nothing to you? I am severely disappointed with this event and will not be pre-ordering any games with you in future as I simply cannot trust you. to pre-order a game with you is merely an empty gesture and ultimately fruitless. it is a waste of my time and energy. I have lost faith in Gamestation as a brand and am not likely to visit your stores as frequently in the future. you guys have made a serious mistake, failing to order in a product that was a guaranteed sale for you. I am sorry to say I think you will be out of business soon if that is how you behave.
