Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you Activision's justification for churning out crap sequels by the bucketload every year! Call of Duty: World at War really wasn't that spectacular, but thanks to name value and the safety of World War II shooters, Activision is in line for a record breaking run as a reward for its yearly "exploitation" plan. Well done Britain.
This is the game's fifth week at the top of the UK chart, and just one more week will see it claim a record for the longest uninterrupted run heading towards Christmas. Activision's success continues as its cynicism and saturation grows. Meanwhile, the more Electronic Arts tries to be fresh and interesting, the more it fails. A lesson for us all, I think.
Otherwise, the UK charts are the same as always. More FIFA, more Need for Speed, more Brain Training. I'm surprised there are people left in England who don't already own these games, but apparently there are ludicrous amounts. Hit the jump for the whole chart.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!

Its a joke isn't it!? Look at poor ol' LBP and PoP all the way down there :(
http://kotaku.com/5111001/british-sales-charts
Quite how Kotaku got that is beyond me.
may have something to do with Kotaku's being format specific.. Not sure how much of a bearing this has on things but it makes better reading for Resistance 2 lovers, like me.
Clance is right. The Kotaku charts are format specific and that's why World at War on the 360 is no. 3 and on the PS3 it's no.7 on their chart. So if you combine all the formats together (PS3, 360, Wii and DS) then the overall sales of World at War boost it to no.1
Still kinda sad that even when all the formats are combined that Prince of Persia is still struggling at no.20
I guess Luke Plunkett is a LBP fan as the format specific list puts it in a more favorable light. Though 16th isn't slouching either.
i suppose POP isn't selling well because they put no DRM on the PC version. or at least that's what they'll say when the shareholders ask.
we APPRECIATE and praise the good/original/fresh games, but BUY the rehashed shit or only the big name guarunteed-to-sell games
I died a little inside.
