UK Charts: Wolverine no match for Wii Fit photo

That's right. For the fifth week in a row, Wii Fit is inexplicably still the number one selling "game" in the UK. The sad irony is that Wolverine is one of the few movie-based videogames that doesn't suck, and it has become one of the few movie-based videogames not to top the chart. There's something about which makes me feel sick to my frigging kidneys.

I think this has officially sealed my opinion that the general public is absolutely, unfathomably stupid and that if a nuclear warhead detonated and wiped out the majority of the human race, it would be no greater tragedy than if a fly drowned in some soapy water. Five weeks at the top of the chart, and not even a bloody movie tie-in can beat it. Britain has officially become demented.

Hit the jump for the full chart, which is full of every game that was in last week's chart, because the drooling retards can't stop buying the same crap. Hugh Jackman would be rolling in his grave if he could see this.

  1. Wii Fit
  2. X-Men Origins: Wolverine
  3. FIFA 09
  4. Wii Play
  5. Resident Evil 5
  6. Mario Kart Wii
  7. Chronicles of Riddick: Dark Athena
  8. The Godfather II
  9. Professor Layton & the Curious Village
  10. Call of Duty: World at War
  11. Street Fighter IV
  12. Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games
  13. Carnival: Funfair HOW IS THIS STILL ANYWHERE IN THE CHART? YOU FUCKING IDIOTS!
  14. My Fitness Coach
  15. Killzone 2
  16. Brain Training
  17. Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
  18. Guitar Hero: World Tour
  19. Ben 10: Alien Force
  20. WSC Real 09: World Snooker Championships (Really?)

How! How does Wii Fit remain? are people buying it over and over cause they keep breaking their balance board or something.

I'd like to think that the 18+ rating slowed Wolverine down but that's probably just wishful thinking.

Also no Singstar Pop in the top 20 = bad times

What? Killzone 2 is only 15th place? I thought it would do better than that.

Also, lol at snookers.

I agree with Anus Mcphanus. it seems to be the most logical answer as when a new big game hits the UK it goes to the top spot for at least a week. I could definitely be wrong, though and Britain could just be made up of people who look themselves in the mirror, state that they're fat and then instead of going out and exercising buy an expensive peripheral that most of them only use very few times and then go back to square one.

It depresses me to see the way the market is heading. I hope one day, when the nukes have been let off and the cockroaches have evolved into an intelligent lifeform, they make video games that don't leave a bad taste in their mouths like grandma's knickers. I can't imagine any person on the planet Earth getting more than thirteen seconds of enjoyment out of something like Wii Fit - and the only people who are getting that enjoyment are the kids who are laughing their arses off when the friendly Wii Board insists their parents are morbidly obese.

The following nugget comes from last week's PAL charts:

"Nintendo take a fourth consecutive week at No1 with 'Wii Fit' (-11%), totaling 13 weeks at No1 in all (9 of which have come in 2009) and the title is gradually homing in on the all time record of 18 weeks at No1 on this chart, set back in late 2000 / early 2001 by Eidos' 'Who Wants To Be A Millionaire' on PS1, Dreamcast and PC."

Just to give you an idea of what wares people in the UK have been buying for quite some time.

What the....a new Singstar game was released last week and it's not in the chart? RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!! THE END IS NIGH!!

Also "#20. WSC Real 09: World Snooker Championships (Really?)

It was the World Snooker Championships this week, so a tie-in game was always going to sell well. However no Rhythm Paradise in the top 10? Fuck you UK.

i like the yellow cancer plastic ribbon thing...just shows what is cool and what's not anymore (i only speak of the kid in the pic - and hope its no one's relative or one of sterling's best friends)

but perplexed that this actually happened again, cant wait for a weekly post were you actually get to crown a new contender, but lets hope its worth your wait. I have no clue why i keep reading this every week, more importantly why you relentlessly continue to torture yourself Jim by posting about it?

The demo for 'Xmen Origins: Wolverine' is still not available in Europe on Xbox live. Don't blame the consumers, just the ones with Wiis and PS3s.

And the game hasn't even been out a week.

Whoever made the phrase "there's no accounting for taste" popular is the one to blame for all this. People should be held accountable for their lamentable taste. Held accountable with blunt, heavy objects to the cranium.

I don't even know anybody who buys Wii games.

Taste is individual specific, but Wii fit really shouldn't still be up there. Neither should FIFA 09.

Kinda disappointed at myself for buying Wii Fit. Such a waste of time and money for a game that was only fun for 2 months tops. Now it just wastes away in the corner. Stupid marketing ploy. :(
