UK Charts: Wii Fit Plus takes its 'rightful' place photo

A fitness game that doesn't sit atop the UK Chart? Say it ain't so! Wii Fit Plus has not been enjoying the number one spot for the past few weeks, since soccer games kept shunting it down the chart. Fortunately for everybody, however, the balance has been restored, and Nintendo's fitness placebo has now taken its predictable position at the top of the UK Chart.

Dragon Age: Origins was the biggest debut of the week, starting at number five on the chart, and expected to go down from there. Outside of that, it's yet more sports games than you can shake a stick at, because it's not enough that people watch soccer on TV seven days a week.

Hit the jump for the full chart.

I really don't get FIFA 10. How's it selling here?

More depressing than normal, Onion?

Because of the football? I think that's to be expected over here. And FIFA10 is really good, so no shame there. I would of liked to see Borderlands fair a bit better, but aside from that, everything is pretty much where you would expect it to be.

Can we have the UK charts written by someone from the UK please? I don't like the smart arse jokes stereotyping us Brits.

Weird, Pro Evo isn't doing as well as it used to. I always thought that was the better of the two franchises.

Also, that guy needs more gold chains.

there is a far higher percentage of non-gaming-wii-owning-body-image-concious people in the uk than there are gamers.

Wii fit is not a game. It's like saying more people bought dumbells than tv's.

@TheToiletDuck Pro Evo 2010 has been given a collective "Meh" from the gaming press, and Fifa has been given glittering reviews. It's not a shock really, EA just markets FIFA far better, and we british are a simple lot.

I'll argue that Wii Fit Plus deserves the sales it's getting because even though I don't like it myself it creates a new type of game that a lot of people seem to want. A game like Wii fit also helps kill the "Video games are ALL violent shooters" stereotype.

If they want it, they can keep it.

That's a bad sterotype?

Why is Lego Batman outselling Borderlands? Fuck this country.

Yes actually it gives the impression that all gamers like is Sandbox games or FPSs. There's nothing wrong with those games but I need some variety in my gaming.

Lego Batman is outselling Borderlands because lots of little kids are buying it. Unless you want MORE little kids online I suggest you cheer up. =]

There's a difference between "Shit" and "Game I don't like". In my opinion what you said is pretty true but I wouldn't say those games are shit but rather that we're obviously not the target audience.

Hey! Don't talk shit on Lego Batman! That game has a spot in my soul where love used to be, all because of a lovely fellow by the name of Man-Bat!
Anywho...Brits and their silly foosball. Also, can I have your sweet police hat there, Jimbo? If not, I got dibs on the confused shirtless guy you're hauling off to the clink!
