British people love their racism, so it's not surprising that the totally racist Resident Evil 5 has topped the UK charts this week, sending Empire: Total War from the previous top spot right down to number eight. Methinks the BNP has been buying a few copies for the office.
In other news, Wii Fit has now made its way to number two in the charts, proving that people are always willing to be suckered in by weight-loss snake oil. Professor Layton is still riding high at number four, which used to confuse me until I saw a TV commercial with the ugly slag from Friends promoting it like just another casual Brain Training game. No wonder the mediocre masses like it.
Killzone 2 and Halo Wars are still toughing it out in the top ten, FIFA 09 is of course there, as is Mario & Sonic. The big shocker this week is that there is NO sign of Guitar Hero. OMG ACTIVISION IS GOING BUST!
Hit the jump for the full charts, anyway.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
How can an extremely good game like P4 not sell and Club Penguin and Fitness coach can?
English gamers are Cunts nowadays.
Glad to say that I got my P4 on release day, and glad I did, I wouldn't expect another print run being release over here.
This world is a strange one...
Agreed. My muscle strength and stamina have greatly increased since I started with Wii Fit. I don't use it as often as I should, but I've been able to move to the third-level repetitions on the strength training exercises that I use. I can also do the 12-minute island run with no problems whereas even the 3-minute run was painful a few months ago.
Anyone who mocks Wii Fit either is completely ignorant of the fact that it actually does work or is just doing the fashionable thing and bashing something Wii-related ... or both. (This is Dtoid, after all.)
Jim, I love ya, man, but when it comes to Wii Fit you're totally off-base.
Now where's my sequel?
