UK Charts: Killzone 2 is blatantly better than Halo Wars photo

Yesterday, we wrote an article confirming without a doubt that Killzone 2 is better than Halo 3. It seems our words touched the hearts of the great British public, as the PS3 exclusive has managed to knock Halo Wars into second place.

For once, the UK charts actually look interesting, which makes a change from the usual FIFA/World at War/Wii Fit gangbang that we have to endure each week. Sega Mega Drive Ultimate Collection is stll there, while Professor Layton has crawled up the chart to number 5. Also, Konami has finally bothered to release Silent Hill: Homecoming in Europe, leading to a number 11 debut.

Congratulations to Sony though. After having LittleBigPlanet and Resistence pushed down the charts by rival titles, it's good to see that the PS3 has finally seized the top slot, and with a damn good game to boot. Our full review of Killzone 2 is coming later tonight, so make sure to check that out, and hit the jump for the full charts.

I got both and i prefer halo wars, i don't like the controls in killzone and the online takes to long to unlock classes.

Halo wars sucks... if i want a good RTS ill buy command and conquer the leader in that genre (til starcraft2 comes) would love to try killzone2 but ive got my xbox 360 so i will have to put up with halo4... or whatever

tbh it is better killzone2 being top than call of duty WAW being #1

I have cancer and I can safely say that Halo Wars is actually better than cancer, but only by a little.

To be honest, I actually don't have cancer, so that was just a biased response filled with cancer bias. BUT I can say that pretending you have cancer is indeed better than both Halo 3 and Halo Wars.

I do have a few problems with the controls they implemented for cancer. I wish cancer controlled the exact same as every other deadly disease because then I wouldn't have to take an hour of my valuable time to get used to it.

I just laughed from that alone

Text is fun!

The 360 controller should come w/ syringes (sp!) to inject mindless halo fanboys who are... fanboys of a dumb fps genre

I wouldn't know personally how much better killzone is then halo wars. I mean, I played it a little. But not really online. Despite this I feel that killzone (which I also haven't played very much) is definitely pretty much boss compared to halo wars. I'll play killzone online soon.

I probably played Halo 1 around 400+ hours. For me, the Halo franchise died there. The sequels just felt like more of the same. I couldn't imagine how little fun I'd have playing a console RTS based off this very shallow sci-fi IP.

Two different types of games, you cannot compare them, but you can compare Halo3 to Killzone2 and we all know which one is better by far......Killzone2! Only little bastards like Halo and its shallow multiplayer. Grow some balls and play some Killzone.

This list is weird. I'm not talking about Killzone 2 or Halo Wars but Need for Speed, Bolt, COD4 etc. UK is weird. Confirmed.

JACK: Stop saying stupid shit like that. I prefer Killzone 2 as well, but it's simply childish and irresponsible to say only "little bastards" play Halo 3 or that players of that game should "grow some balls" and play Killzone.

I like Halo 3, and I can say without a doubt that while I prefer Killzone 2's gameplay, it is not close to being as deep as Halo 3's.

Two different types of games, you cannot compare them, but you can compare Barbie Horse Adventures to My Horse and Me 2and we all know which one is better by far......Barbie Horse Adventures! Only little bastards like tournament Horse riding games and its lack of multiplayer. Grow some balls and play some Barbie Horse adventures.

GROW SOME BALLS!

Both titles doing extraordinarily well.

The first multi-platform game on the list is SF4 and think of the hype around that (K2 + HW combined?). Well done to GG and Ensemble, and to the British public for not just making up more football games to fill the chart!

I know we're officially in a recession, but in the last one, was the public really willing to drop £70 on weighing scales? What Recession!?

WHHHAAT? i unlocked all the classes in a day. Play bodycount only matches it took me all of 2 games to realize that. Most people complain that it was TOO EASY to reach the last rank, but theres plenty to try and accomplish after that anyway.

@necrozen
i love you man

as for which is better killzone 2 or halo 3 i think think they are 2 very different beast. You can't play killzone 2 split screen with 3 friends but i think killzone offers a better experience when playing alone online not to mention halo 3 looks like halo 1 with some extra shiny surfaces.

PSN - Kamelot

it's a surprise that a FPS out sold a RTS? since when? Number 2 spot for halo wars is pretty damn good in my opinion. RTSs don't normally sell all that well, especially mediocre ones.

See you in Killzone 2.

It's always a surprise that a FPS/RTS make it to the top of UK chart. Look at the rest of the chart... Casuals, Retros, Sports, Portables (always cheaper and sell more)...
