It's Tuesday, and that means another look at the always unimaginative UK Charts. FIFA 09 and Call of Duty: World at War have been jockeying for the number one slot for a while, but FIFA has held firm for a second week, proving that England's love of football eventually over-rules England's love of killing people from other countries -- though it's always a close-run thing.
Otherwise, the usual chav-pleasing stuff fills the chart. Are there seriously people in England left alive who don't own Need for Speed yet want it? For a country that's not very big, a ridiculous amount of people are still purchasing Wii Fit as well. Hopefully by the time February hits, we'll have something different to talk about. Until then, it's the usual story.
I apologize for my homeland's boring, boring sales chart.

Destructoid is an open discussion community. You don't need to "audition" to post a comment - just speak your mind. We respect differing opinions on the site, so have at it. Be smart, funny, insightful, clueless, or cute -- but back it up with substance. Keep your cool, keep it fun. We only ask that you act respectfully and above all: don't be a troll and ruin it for everyone else. Don't bring down gamers or we'll, you know, gently shoot you in the face and stuff you into a flaming mailbox. Each comment is your opportuntity to make this community awesomer. Is that even a word?
Avoiding the banhammer only requires common sense: spamming, trolling, racism, NSFW stuff, and other forms of sucking will not be tolerated. If anyone is griefing please report abuse. Be good. Don't suck!
Activision on the other hand, well, they can suck my cock.
I assume you're trawling bebo for those images.

It's actually sold 2 million in the UK now. That is about 3% of the population, which is ludicrous. It stays top as it sells well on ALL formats.
I can't understand why Ned For Speed sels so well. That is some brand recognition they have built up there.
However, from a purely moral perspective, video game soccer is just as boring as regular soccer.
But yes that is a very very mainstream lineup - but what do you expect huh? Its the bestseller chart not the "most-quirky-indie-obscurity" chart.
THe other half is fat, and couldn't care less, they're happy controlling other vastly-better paid girlymen around a pitch.
