UK Charts: FIFA 10 is still on top, obviously photo

Yeah ... in a country that treats soccer like an organized religion, don't expect to see FIFA 10 leave the top spot anytime soon. Yes, once again it's time for the UK Charts, and once again it's a naked portrayal of what the British public appreciates. Amazingly, Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising is in the second slot. I have no idea what that game has done to look appealing to anybody.

Otherwise, your usual dose of racing games, sports game and Professor Layton are all hanging out in the chart this week. Please feel free to hit the jump and read the whole thing, although let's be honest, you're just here for the weekly picture of an idiotic Brit.

  1. FIFA 10
  2. Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising
  3. Need for Speed: Shift
  4. Professor Layton & Pandora's Box
  5. Wii Sports Resort
  6. Halo 3: ODST
  7. Gran Turismo
  8. Wii Fit
  9. Mario Kart Wii
  10. Guitar Hero 5
  11. DiRT 2
  12. Scribblenauts
  13. MySims Agents
  14. Batman: Arkham Asylum
  15. Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Republic Heroes
  16. Killzone 2
  17. Kingdom Hearts: 358/2 Days
  18. Professor Layton & the Curious Village
  19. Wii Play
  20. Mario Strikers Charged Football

... is that the spot that Scribblenauts released a little less than a week after being released? I don't believe it. there is no Bowser's Inside Story to be found here either.

seriously, what the fuck, Britain?

*"received", not "released" the first time the word is used. this cold has not been too kind on me.

when I looked through my own post I noticed the header image as well and remembered that it was there as well. I guess my NERD RAGE was enough to make me ignore it. good find as usual anyway, Jim. :P

maybe those crafty Brits really are going to skip MW2 in protest of the price hike, so they've all gone out and bought Operation Flashpoint.

In my opinion they should just wait for Bad Company 2. But hey.

Scribblenauts did well to get to 12 on the multiformat charts. Bowser's Inside Story only got to 37 on the individual format charts.

I know RPGs usually aren't popular in the UK but WTF?

Like Jim said, too many people are fucktarded and like to play soccer games.
Not that there is anything wrong with playing sports games.

I've said this before, but you can't justify saying our country makes crappy purchasing decisions with nothing to compare it to. Jim seems to post the UK charts because he hates it.

all I see is a wide range of games represented which to me seems to be a good thing.

Misguided angst.

It's all about the lament that "Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Republic Heroes" was made, that people bought it, and that enough people bought it to get it to No 15 in the UK charts.

well, same thing happens here in Brazil too (only with more piracy). Soccer is really fun, so, what's the big deal?
