UK Charts: C-C-C-COMBO BREAKER for World at War

UK Charts: C-C-C-COMBO BREAKER for World at War photo
     C-C-C-COMBO BREAKER

Call of Duty: World at War needed just one more week at the top of the chart to claim a record for most number of weeks held leading to a Christmas number one. Unfortunately for Activision, FIFA 09 has claimed the top spot, batting the cynical sequel down to number two. This marks the first time I'm happy to see something related to soccer win at anything.

And yes, I meant to type "soccer."

As always, the usual games are making up yet another unimaginative UK chart, with Mario Kart Wii, Need for Speed and Brain Training all making their weekly appearances. The only truly noteworthy thing this week is the fact that Professor Layton and the Curious Village is at number nine. Otherwise, UK gamers are still buying the same old crap.

Hit the jump for the full chart listing.

  1. Fifa 09
  2. Call of Duty: World at War
  3. Mario Kart Wii
  4. Need for Speed: Undercover
  5. Brain Training
  6. Wii Play
  7. Quantum of Solace
  8. Professor Layton and the Curious Village
  9. Tomb Raider Underworld
  10. Wii Fit
  11. Guitar Hero: World Tour
  12. Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games
  13. Lego Indiana Jones
  14. Fallout 3
  15. LittleBigPlanet
  16. Prince of Persia
  17. Far Cry 2
  18. Carnival: Funfair Games
  19. Lego Batman
  20. Sonic Unleashed

No, you meant to type football.

A house-mate bought Fifa 09, I mocked but now realize some good did come of its purchase. Hurrah for sliver linings.

Those guys are chavs. Ali G is sort of chav-ish, but he kind of predates them. However, they both emerge out of the same culture.

Look at their pasty, pale skin. They have the token black guy and two other people of questionable ethnicity. Sounds like England's M.O.

Plus the article is about the UK's charts.

Behold logic in all it's glory.

Of course you do, but videogame zealots aren't skinheaded thugs who incite riots.

I guarantee you soccer has been the root cause of more death and violence than videogames ever have. Yet no tabloid will ever declare that soccer should be banned.

@brainderailment. I'm referring to the definition of the "N" word with a W in front of it, applied to ignorant people. Not ethnicity. If you do some research, there's more than one definition. I have nothing against African American people (I actually have quite a few friends from all races because I have a strong interest in other cultures) but, I do have a LOT against ignorant people who are walking/talking gimmicks with a 5 word vocabulary posing to be someone they're not. It's an identity crisis for people who are followers and trying to fit in. Not to mention the music is pathetically un-talented and annoying as hell. Cal them posers, wiggers, wannabes, whatever you want. There the lost youth of tomorrow bred from a top 40 cloning factory of materialistic and media-influenced ignorance.

you sir, are ignorant for assuming that the people in this photo are all..

"ignorant people who are walking/talking gimmicks with a 5 word vocabulary posing to be someone they're not"

and

"a bunch of mongoloids who can speak/spell properly"
*i'll assume you meant can't

Also, perhaps you wouldn't be of the opinion..

"the music is pathetically un-talented and annoying as hell"

..If you had bothered to dig a little further than the charts. How cross would you have been, if, i had called all rock music cheesy and camp because my parents had showed me some 70's rock videos?

calm down and have a think before you attack a culture and then claim to..

"have a strong interest in other cultures"

@Munkee. Rap and hip hop are not part of a culture. It's a money-making marketing tool to conform society's youth into materialistic and disrespectful retard idiots. Granted all of those people in those photos might be intelligent. But, the way they hold themselves and act doesn't leave much hope from my opinion. And I have a lot of interest in many country's "Traditional" cultures. Not this C.RAP. And not all rock music is good either. I don't tend to listen to the more popular music as I don more of underground stuff. And, I listen to much more than just rock. Traditional ethnical music, Classical, electronic, reggae, older funk and soul music, experimental, super heavy ass death metal, 80's pop/new wave. Anything and everything from all cultures that is talented, not ignorant, artistic, and meaningful. Any music that sacrifices the integrity of itself to quickly be marketed to make a quick buck isn't music. It's a dying trend. And unfortunately, ignorance sells.

You cant just dislike a whole sport because of a few people, let alone generalizing and calling football fans skin head thugs. What about the good things that have happened because of football?

Sorry, but the "football religion" culture has always disgusted me. Hell, when you consider the amount of money it makes and the violence that has stemmed from it, calling football a religion could never have been more fitting.

I dislike football itself because I find it boring. If you like it, that's your thing, whatever. I don't actually want it banned or anything. I just think that if we were banning things for causing terrible shit to happen, I'd pick football waaaay before games.
